| The upstairs living area of Sunset Villa is supplemented by the two courtyards located directly below the house. Both the upper and lower courtyards offer comfortable outdoor living any time of the day or night. With the shade provided by the house, the peace and solitude enjoyed here during the afternoon makes it a very special place. The upper deck, shown in the pictures above, is always breezy, cool and very pleasant. We enjoy having morning coffee in the upper courtyard because of the indirect east morning sunshine which floods the area. Both areas allow for humming bird, butterfly, lizard (tiny), dove and song bird watching. If you sit in the upper courtyard in the evening, you may see the Manicu (like a possum) running along the telephone line. These native nocturnal mannels are harmless and a rare sight to see. The pictures below verifies that you still have the Marina and Sea view from the lower deck as well as comfortable seating in the wooden lounge chairs and a place to cook and serve your meals. At all times, the east trade winds cool the courtyards making this one of the most pleasant places to be. The views of the gardens and tropical flowers add to the peaceful experience. There is a shower, deep laundry sink and washing machine in the "garden house" (future pool house). This is also the gardener and cleaning lady's supply area. There is a North American style clothes line and step behind the courtyards and water tanks. There are two sound speakers wired to the courtyards from the CD player/stereo upstairs, providing your favorite music. |
