PROFESSIONAL RESUME

OBJECTIVE

*          To lead an Electrical/Electronics Industry in particular or such Division of any Industry in General to Business Excellence with my vast and varied experience in Electrical/Electronics/Process automation Industries in R&D, Production, QA, Purchase, Projects/Product Marketing, EPC/PMC Project Management etc.,

EXPERIENCE

2007 Mar.                                     Leading Turnkey Electrical Contractor                        Chennai.

General Manager-Marketing.

*          The MD of this company invited me to join this company as General Manager-Marketing, as he had come to know about my capability to acquire orders of big values for my previous employer.

*          Made responsible for order booking of Rs.600 Cr.

*          Acquired Rs.92 Cr. within seven months following up with pending offers and from new ones, given a revised target of Rs.200 Cr. due to lesser allocation of budget.

*          Responsible for Planning, budgeting and recruiting a team of AGM, Sr.Managers, Managers, Sr.Engineers and Engineers.

*          Recruited and trained enough personnel to achieve the target.

*          Experience of having handled high value tenders of Government agencies compiling techno commercial Pre qualifications, strategic pricing and winning helped me achieve results with a success rate of 24%.

*          Capability to use SWOT analysis with a data base of competitors prices that I created, having taken part in more than 60-70 Govt tenders (conventional and E-Tenders) to win tender bids by strategic costing.

*          Within four months of my joining, LOA was obtained for Rs.25 Cr. from MPPKVNL from 2 tenders, became L1 for Rs.67Cr in 3 tenders of MPMKVNL .

*          The percentage difference between my offer (L1) and L2 is around 5-9% only on an average.

*          When It was decided that we should enter into automation, consultancy and ESCOS besides conventional electrical works for private sector, made a separate budget for the new products/services marketing giving a PBT of Rs.4.5 Cr with an order value of Rs.50Cr and turn over of Rs.35 cr.

*          Because of an impressive report that I made after visiting the site I could acquire a maiden order for electrical and automation consultancy worth Rs.1 million from India cements ltd with an assurance that they would consider us for execution worthRs.12.Cr. as well.

*          Disbursements to the tune of only Rs.9000 Cr. have been made against a target of Rs.23000 Cr. under RGGVY scheme and hence much more opportunity awaits the electrical industries and individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced.

*          Hence I am looking for better Prospects.

2005-2007                                         Kalpataru power transmission Ltd.,                         Ahmedabad & Chennai.

Deputy General Manager-Marketing.

*          Fascinated by my zeal of marketing and the knowledge of Rural electrifications happening in India, the MD of the above referred Company offered me DGM-MKTG Post and invited me to join them in their new ventures on Rural electrification, which I politely accepted after the previous employer gave his consent.

*          Made technical and commercial offers to UPPCL and PGCIL for various Rural Electrification Projects and involved myself as a front runner in obtaining orders worth Rs.600 Crores.

*          Made an in depth analysis of the pricing of competitors made public in open tender and increased the margin helping management conserve more than Rs.50Crores in the following offers/orders worth Rs.800Crores.

*          Toured extensively to all the sites and made a professional presentation on method of execution.

*          Organised interviews at various centres for selections of Project Managers, field engineers, accountants etc., for the execution of above orders.

*          Visited many major vendors’ factories for evaluation and released purchase orders/made recommendations for purchase based on my observations.

*          Employing my earlier employer as a sub contractor, I personally was overseeing the execution of 28 nos of 33/11KV substation orders of UPPCL.

*          Had the pleasure of reporting to the MD who is No.1 in India in the Electrical Industry and had the privilege of getting commended by him on many occasions.

*          Established an office in Chennai for coordinating with the contractor, Client and Head office.

*          Toured extensively for execution and for participation in running tenders.

*          I was given 25% increment for the last year’s performance besides a good incentive at the end of sixth month itself on recognizing my effort in getting an order of Rs.100Cr. in spite of having been L2.

2004-2005             GET Engineering Constructions Pvt Ltd.,                                   Chennai.

Chief Manager-Marketing.

*          This company with a moderate growth during the last four years with sales growing from Rs 6 Cr. to Rs.16 Cr. was scouting for a go-getting Marketing Professional and I fitted the bill.

*          Immediately on joining I made a professional brochure namely “Brief Profile” that described the company 99% in just four pages. This enhanced enquiry generation from many reputed consultants and clients.

*          I was instrumental in impressing Kalpataru power transmission ltd specializing in transmission lines to visit GET office and enter into a JV with GET for Sub stations’ Projects by what was given in the Brief Profile.

*          This company would become one of GET’s Key Clients in future who will give 10% of business and I would become the Deputy General Manager of the said company to release an order for Rs.8.5crores on GET was not known to me or my employer then.

*          I stood vindicated for selecting to print and distribute the “brochure” than to just publish on the WEB as the first step when the MD of the above company remarked “I wouldn’t have got an IDEA about you had you been on NET because there are too many to choose from and is just confusing”.

*          I did go on the NET as the second step since that is also a pre requisite for growth.

2003-2004                          LOGIK AUTOMATION.                                                  Chennai

Chief Officer-Marketing.

*          I created the requisite systems to put this start up company on rails by getting the necessary infrastructure in place for a smooth take off. I had established contacts with many corporate clients and made offers for the automation of their process.

*          Acquired an order for automation from Tube Products of India. Repeat order worth Rs.1’0 would follow as I saw my concept for “cut to precise length” working.

*          An auto cut to length machine (Costing Rs.55.000/- and saleable for Rs.1,55,000/-) conceived and Commissioned for a reputed PP bag manufacturer was working excellent and orders for 15 to 20 nos./year (with requisite minor modifications) from others in India was easily attainable as none of them have one.

*          I also conceived a machine for rubber texture conversion in the manufacture of auto transmission belts and generated interest.
