What is a BBS? A Computer Bulletin Board System. A
format so simple that a computer from 20 years ago to a current one can use it
with just a simple term program (like Hyperterm
on the PC, or Z-Term on
the Mac). Before the internet became common, this was the means to play
online games, check weather, E-mail people, and download files. The good
news is, this hastle free and simple way of talking to people still
exists. Dallas is fortunate to have four dialup BBS's, and at least one
telnet BBS (names in bold) that I have confirmed by computer do work.
Fort Worth & Denton have been confirmed to have a tone at least.
Please take some time to become part of a fine tradition while it is still with
us . Anyone from around the world can go anywhere on the internet. But
a BBS is a special place where the few travel. And it is there you can
uniquely your own.
