Lucy Got Married To Garth Lawless At The Age Of 19.
Lucy's first big gig was a travel commerical. Used that money to buy a ticket to go to Europe.

The fifth of seven children and the oldest girl.Lucy of an early age had two different passion, namely rugby and singing. She opted for the singing and in 1986, enrolled to Auckland University to study languages and opera. As an independant eighteen year old Lucy backpacked through Europe including grape picking on the Rhine. When the money was out, she flew to Australia and worked in the gold mines matching the men in the grueling psysical work. With the first marriage and birth of her daughter Daisy Lucy with renewed determination returned to acting. First starring in commercials and then i a successed New Zealand TV comedy show, Funny Buisness. This was followed by roles in The Ray Bradbury Theatre and Rainbow Warrior starring Jon Voight. Although Lucy had appeared in Hercules before as Lysia and Lyla it was only when she appeared as Xena in the tree part series that her breakthrough came. This and a quick change of her haircolour (Lucy is really a blond) and Xena, as we know her, was born.

At almost six feet tall and intense blue eyes, Lucy was the natural producers choice to play Xena in the new series Xena: Warrior Princess. Lucy regards the role of Xena as her first major breakthrough and believes it to be the best role for an actress on television in twenty years. Xena: Warrior Princess, as a spin-off serie to Hercules, was in a short time grown to be far more popular than its original. In October 1996, she fractured her pelvis after falling from a horse when she was practicing a scene for "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" which caused a few Xena lite-fight episodes during season two. Lucy was chosen by "People" magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World (1997). Married Xena's creator and executive producer Robert Tapert in 1998, they had a son (Oct 16, 1999), Julius Robert Bay Tapert.
