Political Goals: Make Sovereignty the duty of every living natural citizen as intended in 1776 in our Declaration of Independence. Derive all rights from the basic legal right of all living natural citizens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Restrict the legal rights of non-living legal entities in order to protect individual liberty. The ultimate IVA purpose is to give all citizens equal ballot access under federal election law and under Ohio election law. IVA participants will accomplish ballot access for and Election Day support of non-partisan candidates and issues. The IVA will publish ballot access petitions. Published petitions, available for download, will be petitions for independent candidates, minor political parties, and pro-reform referendum issues. Each IVA certified petition circulator will choose which ballot access petitions to circulate. Successful petition efforts will give voters more ballot choices to initiate governance from the bottom up. Active citizenship, our participation, will lead to government of, by, and for the people at the local, state, and national levels. The Ohio IVA will support establishment of a coalition OHIVA non-partisan independent political party with an acting Central Committee composed of one man and one woman from each US Congressional District, for minor or intermediate party status, or one man and one woman from each Ohio county for major party status, in accordance with Ohio law. (Top of Page) (Your Voice)T he Ohio IVA will consistently seek non-partisan coalition candidates who are in the moderate range on all political issues. The only requirement of all IVA participants and IVA candidates for public office is support for our democratic republic. Liberty, justice, and a more democratic republic are constant IVA goals.Success depends upon participation by large numbers of non-partisan independents, who are a super majority, as IVA web page managers and as IVA certified petition circulators. The average IVA participant would need to donate ten to twenty hours of public service time per year to transform our political system. Liberty and justice for all in a more democratic republic is the overall IVA goal. Continuous ballot access as a coalition political party will be obtained for the IVA in Ohio when supported by growth in the number of IVA participants. Continuous IVA ballot access will be maintained either by petition or by obtaining the necessary percentage of votes in Presidential and Gubernatorial elections as provided by Ohio law. Continuous Ohio ballot access for all minor parties will be a required concurrent IVA petition goal. The Ohio IVA will work to place candidates for the national offices of President, Vice President, US Senator, and US Representative to Congress from all minor parties on all Ohio ballots. Each IVA coalition participant, individual voter or minor party, will then decide which Presidential pair, or other candidate, to vote for or endorse, as the non-partisan independent candidate most likely to win each public office. Each non-partisan independent and minor party public officeholder helps to eliminate the pointless bipartisan power struggle that now interferes with good government at all levels. A ll IVA coalition candidates must support basic electoral and political reforms to return control of the political process to the people of Ohio.Candidates: Each IVA coalition candidate, usually one per public office, could be a non-partisan independent candidate with a well-defined individual platform on issues. If not, an IVA coalition candidate can choose to run his/her campaign on the well-defined platform of one or more of the minor parties, such as Green, Independence, Libertarian, Natural Law, Reform, or We the People parties — in alphabetical order. Non-partisan independents and minor parties using IVA ballot access will agree to choose one coalition candidate from all possible candidates to stand for any specific public office, especially on the state and local levels. Other promising coalition candidates will choose to run for another office where an IVA coalition candidate is needed to provide an alternative to the monopoly bipartisan two-party system. All endorsed candidates will be selected to provide the best-qualified candidate for every public office in every election. In the event the IVA coalition non-partisan independent political party has actual ballot access and can field a full set of candidates for public office, and there is still more than one IVA candidate standing for the office(s), the IVA will participate in primary elections as provided by Ohio law to elect one candidate from two or more IVA candidates to stand for each public office in the November general elections. O ne central IVA coalition guiding principle is to provide opposition and alternatives to the monopoly bipartisan two-party system in order to win local, state and national level public office with non-partisan candidates who will provide government of, by, and for the people.Briefly, the OHIVA can build a coalition non-partisan independent political party structure to maintain open ballot access for all public offices in Ohio with the least effort possible. With ballot access problems solved the non-partisan independent political movement can dedicate more time and effort toward elections of more non-partisan independent candidates who will represent every person in the moderate independent super majority. Non-partisan IVA candidates elected to public office will govern for the common good of all citizens. (Top of Page) (Your Voice)T he non-partisan political movement can become strong enough to overcome the bipartisan (two-party) left/right stranglehold on our political process. Divided, non-partisan independents will continue to be factional and marginal. Together, the non-partisan independent super majority can move toward a more democratic republic of, by, and for all the people of the State of Ohio. Support your Local IVA. (Your Voice)Ohio Coalition Party Ballot Access Numbers: Ten valid signatures from 5,000 petition circulators (50,000 valid signatures) are more than the number of valid signatures needed on minor party ballot access petitions in Ohio. Twenty times that number of petition circulators, 100,000, would lower the number of valid signatures needed per petition circulator to only one or two signatures. Signatures from a spouse and a neighbor can transform our world. Once we have 100,000 IVA certified motivated petition circulators, we can easily reform our Ohio political system. With as few as five thousand well-motivated petition circulators across the state of Ohio we can accomplish ballot access miracles. Continuous Coalition Ballot Access: Twenty signatures every two years from 5,000+ OHIVA petition circulators (100,000+ signatures) from friends, neighbors, and family will certify OHIVA ballot access for all future elections. Every legislative candidate using OHIVA ballot access will need just 25 valid signatures, not 1000s, for ballot access. Statewide candidates will need just 1000, not 5000 valid signatures. With ballot access assured, non-partisan candidates can successfully compete with the bipartisan monopoly. Each state requires different numbers. Be an active petition circulator and Election Day participant. Be an Active Citizen in your voting precinct. A Little Effort — A Lot of Liberty Welcome to the non-partisan political movement. Legislation: Develop and promote model legislation for ballot access and election laws for use in Ohio and throughout the fifty states. Model legislation must honor the equal protection provisions of the Ohio Constitution and the US Constitution in both the letter and the spirit of the law.
