The
best dispatchers can only be trained by an airline.
Falcon
Air Academy, Inc.
is the best training program on the market today. We have taken the art of
training Aircraft Dispatchers to a new level. We call it the "integrated
approach".
We don’t
believe in the standard way of training Aircraft Dispatchers, using only textbooks
and a single aircraft, with simple problems. That approach leaves much to be desired.
A dispatcher that is trained this way is unprepared for the work environment
a dispatcher is suddenly thrown into after school.
Our approach is simple; we train our students as if they would be graduating
our class, then walking right into our dispatch center to work.
As a school
embedded within an operating FAR 121 Flag/Domestic airline, Falcon Air Express,
Inc., we have the unique ability to train using actual situations, and multiple
aircraft. This will produce a student
who has already seen how complex a normal workday at a Dispatch Center can be.
We feel
that the "integrated approach” produces dispatchers who make
confident, informed decisions that will inspire the confidence of their peers from
day one.
We use
the "integrated approach”
for two reasons. First because the graduates will be ready to walk into any
dispatch job knowing full well what to expect, and how to handle the tough situations
with confidence. Secondly, when positions are available, students can graduate from
class and be hired immediately by Falcon Air Express. Falcon
Air Academy, Inc.
graduates always get preferential hiring status with Falcon
Air Express.
LEARN
FROM CURRENT AND QAULIFIED CAREER AIRCRAFT DISPATCHERS.
The
best way to learn something is from people who actually do the job everyday.
Students at the Falcon
Air Academy, Inc.
will get to see the whole process in motion at the Falcon Air Express Global Headquarters
Dispatch Center, where they spend time with certified dispatchers handling real
flights.
Standard
Dispatch courses cannot offer this valuable experience, nor can they give the student
the feel of what the job will be like. Working in an operating dispatch center exposes
the student to real life situations better than any classroom assignment could ever
do. There is no way to effectively simulate the chaos that surrounds delayed flights,
weather holds, and actual aircraft emergencies. How much would you trust a pilot
who had only flown the plane your on in the simulator?
Our instructors
do more than just teach dispatchers; they are all current and qualified Falcon
Air Express, Inc. dispatchers. Some of our instructors are also
Falcon Air Academy, Inc.
graduates.
At
the Falcon Air Academy, students learn to use the tools of a dispatcher, one of
Students
will also become familiar with the David R. Bornemann Associates, Inc. Information Systems for Airlines products,
including FlightTrac Plot, and Eagle. These products are used by more than 40 airlines
worldwide, and their products are becoming the standard in aviation. What better
way is there to train than on products your future employer will more than likely
be using?
The
Dispatch profession is a rapidly growing field. The aviation community is growing
so fast that beginning in the year 2001 there will be a shortage of dispatchers.
This shortage will greatly benefit students of the Falcon Air Academy, who
may have a job waiting for them before they even graduate. We invite companies to
interview our students on campus. Falcon Air Academy also enrolls every student
in Airline Employment Placement Service” (A.E.P.S.), which is a well-known aviation
industry resume database. A.E.P.S. allows employers to post their job openings, as
well as search for new employees in the database.
What
does a dispatcher do?
An
Aircraft Dispatcher is much like the man behind the curtain in The Wizard of
Oz”. The Dispatcher is the one behind the scenes, making things happen.
The
Dispatcher is the one who, hours before the flight crew gets to the airport, is already
planning every possible outcome of the flight. They then choose the safest, most
expedient, and cost effective way to get passengers, or cargo, from point A”
to point B”.
Planning
a flight takes more than just desire to get there. Dispatchers have been extensively
trained in the areas of Meteorology, Regulations, Aircraft performance, Air Traffic
Control Procedures, and Emergency Situations.
Before
the flight moves off the gate, the Dispatcher, and the Captain of the flight must
jointly decide that the trip can be accomplished safely. The Dispatcher and the Captain
share the responsibility for the safety of the flight.
The
Aircraft Dispatcher is a licensed airman certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
