My Journal

December 17th
This month has started off on the wrong foot. I have been very sick with numerous colds, bronchitis, sinusitis and low counts and have been unable to get chemo treatments. The tumor on my adrenal gland is growing and causing a great deal of pain. We had hoped that I could get radiation there again but I found out this morning that in order for this to be done my left kidney would die and my right one is only functioning at 60% so that is out until absolutely necessary. So now I am between a rock and hard place. No chemo, no radiation and actively growing cancer.... Mom however is doing great. She is looking forward to Christmas and a visit from 'the old goat' and enjoying her Christmas cookies very much. SMILE. We got our tree last week and put up a few lights outside but nothing like normal for us. My dog Koko is doing pretty good. She is the one with diabetes and blindness. She gives us a lot of enjoyment with her antics. although at her expence.

I still haven't been able to get chemo. I go in next Wednesday for my first round which the doctor said will kick my butt. I'm glad it is after Christmas at least. Mom is doing great still. Her moods have been wonderful. Last night she helped me fill out some gift tags. Tomorrow we are going to look at the lights, pig out on donuts and hot chocolate and watch movies with the grandkids.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
I hope and pray that everyone will have a wonderful Christmas. This year seems to bring a new meaning to many. The tragic events of the year have given me new focus also. Please be safe and tell someone you love them.

Boy, we had a great Christmas Day. I was able to cook dinner all by myself and it was good if I do say so myself. I spent days baking all our tradtional goodies. All the kids came up around 2:00 and didn't leave until about 8:00. We opened gifts, had dinner and played Cranium. We got into playing so much that we didn't even have dessert. LOL. My mom was so happy. She even knew what day it was and enjoyed it a great deal. WOW did she eat. She loved all of her gifts but felt bad that she hadn't given enough. What a sweetie. I felt good all day but was definately ready for bed. I hope everyone had a wonderful day. Now for New Years. I am so thankful that I will see yet another one.

I have been so sick. All weekend I have been wrapped around the toilet or in bed. I had a Bone Marrow Aspiration on the 27th and the doctor put me on a new pain medication which definately didn't agree with me. Then yesterday I had to have a brain MRI which I really didn't feel like having. I go back to the doctor on the 2nd for the results. Tonight is going to be a very quiet night. David and Melody are going to a friends party, their children are going up to Grandma Joyces. Robert and Crystal and Kasi are staying home since Crystal had to work tonight and again tomorrow. I hope all of you have a Wonderful and safe night and Happy New Year.
