Indirectly inspired by the Sta-Bil National Racing series,
fueled by the desire to make 'something' go fast, sustained by the realization
that all fun doesn't come from the track, and growing with each passing
month.
| Founded in 1998, the 'Sodbusters'
enjoyed a sucessful season of 'clipping the grass.' At least 12 mowers,
and as many as 17 mowers competing every other week during part of June,
July and into August for the 5 race series championship. Racing on
a small dirt oval, located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Ava, MO
produced mixed results and lots of enjoyment for both competitors and spectators.
