Music is the harmonious combination of aesthetically pleasing sounds, arranged in time so as to produce a continuous, unified and evocative composition. It is the addictive combination of melody, harmony, rhythm and timbre that touches all who stop to listen.

This is the belief and passion of The Durham Chamber Orchestra, a collective of talented musicians that live to celebrate the timeless contributions of classical music. Formerly known as the Ajax-Pickering Chamber Orchestra, DCO was formed in October of 1996 by a group of local musicians wanting to make this music a reality in the ears of the neighbourhood and the Durham community.

We come together for two reasons: 1) To provide an opportunity for people of all ages to play in an orchestra and to make music and 2) To give the community a chance to enjoy our efforts. Your donations and the contributions of our sponsors help to keep our organization working to present our concerts to you.

Weekly rehearsals are now held at Fr.Leo J. Austin CSS, Dryden Avenue, Whitby, Wednesday evenings beginning the second week in September at 7:30pm. All are invited to watch, listen, and participate.

Welcome to the Durham Chamber Orchestra!
