Complete with padded walls and everything, this place completely fulfills it's name of being a "Therapy" lounge. The bouncers, unlike at other clubs, were not scary and overbearing. Sure... they were these big, huge guys dressed in black, had headsets, and looked really tough, but they were polite and friendly. And they didn't check our IDs. I dunno if this is a good or bad thing. Once we were inside, the barmaids were very nice and friendly. Therapy Lounge gets full marks for service.

Therapy Lounge has a really cool patio out front where people can sit and enjoy their drink in the cool spring air. Personally, I don't really know why anyone would *want* to be sitting on a patio that's in the E-district (Richmond St.) since it's so noisy but to each their own. The bar in the front area is in the middle of the room. It's lit up nicely with different coloured lights and serves to anchor the room. With the open patio right out in front, the bar in any other location would make the room look incredibly empty.

As you walk through the hall to the back room you pass the stairs that lead up to the dance floor and the washrooms. Of great importance at all establishments (clubs, restaurants, bars, etc...) is the washroom. I know this sounds weird... but you really got to trust me on this one. Although the decor for the washroom is quite nice, the fact that the stalls are insanely small makes you forget all about the funky faucets and the well lit mirrors.

Back on the main floor, just past the stairs, are two opposing booths. These semi-circular booths can each cozily fit six people and are good for creating a conversation type atmosphere. Unfortunately, since they are facing one another, you may feel mildly uncomfortable if the booth across from you is housing a smoochy couple.

In the back room, there are tables in front of the couches that line the two opposing padded walls. This room is very cool and extremely comfortable for those who want to just drink and chillax. The music is a bit loud for chatting, but if you're used to Alleycatz (like me) you won't have any problem chatting with your pal. This place is definitely much quieter than Alleycatz. The bar in this room is against the back wall. This room is much smaller and by placing the bar at the back, room can be made for a small dance floor.

Now, onto the most important thing. The drink. In my current financial state, I decided not to go nuts and try all the drinks. I had some self-control and stayed focused and so only had one drink. I had the only drink that mattered. I ordered the Lychee Extreme, which is the Therapy Lounge's version of Alleycatz's Crazy Catz. The Lychee Extreme smelled amazing. Take one whiff and you'll likely start to swoon. I definitely did. Smell-factor-wise, it beat my Crazy Catz hands down. However, martinis are not all about the smell. In fact, they are all about the taste. I took one sip of this fragrant drink and I was immediately brought back down to earth. Sadly, it was a disappointingly limey drink with the taste of lime juice overpowering both the smell of the lychee and the bite of the liquor. As like the Crazy Catz, the Lychee Extreme also had a lychee in the bottom. When I drained the last drop of liquid and bit into the fruit, this drink's hope for redemption was lost. Although the lychee was more succulant than the ones used at Alleycatz, it failed to have the flavour. Both establishments use canned fruit, but because of the difference in alcohol content between the two drinks, the Lychee Extreme's fruit lacked the glorious alcoholic flavour of the Crazy Catz's jewel. It wasn't a bad drink. It just would never become "my" drink.

The biggest downside of the evening was that my hook-up failed to inform me of the private party that booked the room upstairs. This meant that the dance floor would be unavailable and thus we would be confined to the ground level. Ultimately, the Therapy ultraLounge can not yet be rated. I have to be able to assess the dance floor to be able to properly give a grade. However, at the moment, I think it's on it's way to getting an "okay" rating. If you're interested in checking it out, let me know and we'll go again for another group Therapy session.
