    During WWII,  Malta was the most bombed nation (per square mile) than any other nation.   
     My father's aunt was sitting in Mosta's domed church (above) attending mass.
     There was an air attack and a bomb (pictured left) pierced the rotunda, skidding across the altar and came to a rest. It did not detonate. No one was hurt in the church. Out of the thousands of tonnes of bombs that were dropped on the island, this one did not explode. Some will argue it was Divine Intervention, while others say that is was pure luck.
