These pictures feature some of the foreigners who were working in development in Guinea, West Africa. On the left are two French nationals, Lydie and Bruno, working on a development project west of Labe. It was with them that I went to see the "Coming of Age" ceremony.
Bottom left shows some of the Peace Corps volunteers that I met. Mary F. (back row, left) was a nurse working with the mid-wives. While I was staying at her home, I had the great fortune (for lack of a better word) of being violently ill. I stayed on her couch for over a week as she watched over my health. She is one of the nicest and selfless people I've ever met.
Below is the Director of Foster Parent Plan in Labe, Guinea. David worked hard, lived in a simple room and walked to work every day. I spent the next day visiting
Foster Parent Plan's projects .
