by cb_13 Acketh(PoW) completed his 3@30 today! Upon the advent of his 30th birthday Acketh imbarked upon the golden quest. Arriving in Tristan he went to visit his favorite missunderstood person Wirt! After being offered a Master's Axe of Carnage for 65 odd thousand gold pieces he went to the dungeon to raise the money to help his friend. First a qick trip for revenge upon the Butcher, then down to the bowles of Hell itself. Entering 13 he discoverd Cave Vipers, Snow Witches & dogs no large quanitys off any thankfully. Only needed to clear 2 small rooms to find the stairs to 14 where he encounterd Balrogs & more Snow Witches. Ended up clearing almost 1/2 of the level with 1 nasty death due to a miscast of Teleport instead of Firewall! Ouch! After recovery of my gear he found the stairs to 15 over an adjicent wall. TP over the wall and down ;-) To 15 with Hellspawn and Doomies. Was nice not to find soulburners! Blood Lust met him close to the stairs and after being trapped in a corner dropped a perfect Obsid SBB which was quickly converted to pot money as funds were running low. One room to the north was laz's room so slowly clearing the southern wall and around the entrance untill able to cast FB into the room too awake the sisters one at a time. The First to come out was Vex and after being forced to turn her into a statue and then bash she dropped a Nightscape. Her sister gave up a Kingly Sabre +93 To Hit +156 Damage. Not having enough resists to survive the room itself and with Golem at slvl1 requiring 100 mana and only being able to muster 98 at best, he decided to fill the room with Firewall and drive Laz out on his own. This plan worked finally but took several tries with 3 deaths then 3 more deaths to kill him once he came out of the room as a sinle blast from him dropped the red ball to a red screen. When he eventually admitted that I was a better man then him he gave up a tower verision of Storm shield. At this point having seen 1/2 of the level with no sign of the pentagram he decided to take a chance and do some naked searching went to town put my gear under Wirt watchfull eye and then went back down and started blind jumping over walls. After the 3rd wall and as many more deaths he got it right and ran down the stairs to Diablos lair. The stairs let out next to the maze room at the far northern end :( Turned out to be a long battle to make make it to the 2 switch room and then an even longer battle to trip the switches. By this time over 30 BK's had fallen to his sword. After tripping the switches and packing up. (hehe actually thought he could kill him first try). He layed down 6 Firewalls in front of me and cast Chain Light 1 time to the middle of the room and bang was rewarded with an appocaliptic blast. The first go round he drank 14 pots and had my sapphire cape of the mammoth shredded to 1 of 12 dur before dying. Back down the fresh TP (yes he had that much sense) he was only able to lay down 1 Fwall before he was on me and the red ball dropped fast as he was hit trying to cast another FW. 1 more trip back down the TP wich he had put over the wall from *D* in a known clear area. Was able to lay down six more Fwalls drop a few pots and then cast chain one last time to lure Diablo to his demise!! Only took 4 pots to finish him off this time! I hope Wirt is proud as this dedd is done in his name. Acketh(pow) |
