Darkman(BNM)'s 3@30 Report

After finishing an extensive physical workout consisting of Normal Hell romps, shrine runs, and elixer hunts, Darkman(BNM) flexes his little BNM muscles and announces that he is ready to challenge the denizens of Hell/Hell. An evil grin emerges on Darkman(BNM)'s face as he checks his spell book and sees that his enchanted runs have been most successful! Lvl 13 FB, lvl 12 Golem, lvl 15 SC, lvl 14 Guardian, lvl 8 TP, lvl 9 CL. These spells coupled with Darkman(BNM)'s 245 magic prove to be a devestating combination...

Level 13:
As Darkman(BNM) carefully descends the level 13 stairs, the putrid, dank air of Hell engulfs him. An awkward silence lingers for a monent, until a sudden *twack* echoes through the halls as Darkman(BNM) cracks open the first barrel with his Frog's Staff of Lightning (depleted of course:). The first room is empty except for a solitary chest that yields a small pile of gold. However, the next room is heavily guarded by Snow Witches and Balgrogs:o) The witches die quickly from Darkman(BNM)'s FBs and the Balgrogs are turned to statues that soon become depris as bolts of CL surge through them.

Darkman(BNM) is forced to clear more than two-thirds of the level this way before finding the stairs down. But he really doesnt mind so much. The swolen cry of a dying Snow Witch falling under his massive FBs seems to give him strength and encouragement;)

Besides Blackskull and his angry mob of Balgrogs, who gave Darkman(BNM) quite a scare, the level is relatively uneventful.

Level 14:
Upon arriving on level 14, Darkman(BNM) walks around the edge of the area surrounding the stairs and notices the bright aura of a boss on the other side of the wall. Curious, Darkman(BNM) casts Infravison to see what lies ahead. The boss is a knight accomponied by a couple of dogs. Great, Lava Maws. Darkman(BNM) sees no threat in the knights, but makes sure to be extra careful in dealing with the Lava Maws because with no resistances and +5 damage from enemies, he doesnt have too much room for error;-)

The knights turn out to be Doom Guards, who dont even resist Lightning:) Needless to say, the level goes by very quickly as both knights and dogs go down with one cast of CL:) After slaughtering Graywar the Slayer with a few FBs, Darkman(BNM) finds the stairs down early and decides to press on to 15.

Level 15:
As fate would have it, Lazarus's chamber lies directly next to the stairs:) Darkman(BNM) decides to clear the outskirts of the room before trying his luck inside. Much to his pleasure, Darkman(BNM) finds a few Azure Drakes and Balgrogs lurking about. No Soul Burners to be seen!

After dispatching the feeble drakes and foolish Balgrogs, Darkman(BNM) wakes up Laz's room with a double cast of CL:) He then retreats around the corner and SCs the witches before they can say "Bloodstar". All four witches go down in an orgy of FBs and CL (well not really;) Then, Mr Golem appears from the earth and lets the Advocates know who's boss. Darkman(BNM) enters Laz's room to admire his handy work when, all of the sudden Laz awakes from his statue slumber and tattoos Darkman(BNM) with a FB that nearly kills him:( Not nice, Laz. Not nice at all. After exchanging the favor, Darkman(BNM) begins the hunt for the over-sized pentagram...

Ten seconds later, he finds it near the entrance to the next room=) What luck!

Level 16:
Once on level 16, Darkman(BNM) can tell by looking around that he is on the eastern side of the level, directly above the maze. Not good. His goal lies to the west and getting there might not be so easy. Sure enough, the area between the third room and Diablo's lair is filled with Advocates, punctuated by a few Blood Knights here and there.

Slowly, Darkman(BNM) lures out the knights to a safe spot and disposes of them methodically. Now it is Mr Golem's turn. Darkman(BNM) skillfully maneuvers around, dodging FBs and helping Golem out with some SC. Eventually the path is clear, and Darkman(BNM) leads his Golem south around Diablo's Lair, then west, and back up again. Another pack of Advocates slow their pace, but Golem cuts them down and they continue north around the third room. All clear. Darkman(BNM) thanks Golem for his help but tells him that he is no longer needed.

Darkman(BNM) makes final preparations for the upcoming battle and then pulls the two skull levers releasing Diablo:o) A surge of Holy Bolts are cast in Diablo's direction and adrenaline pumps through Darkman(BNM)'s veins as one of them connects. Darkman(BNM) leans against a wall for safety and throws down five level 15 Firewalls directly in front of him. Diablo, much obliged, stands in the midst of the raging flames as Darkman(BNM) pummels him with FBs. A scream. Death. Blood spews across his face. Victory!
