Return to Main Page Also at the beginning of the Eighties, Doctor Jeffrey S. Thompson began his Brain-Mind Research project which clinically analyzed human response to sound. He focussed on the use of the hemi-sync brain synchronization technology developed by doctor Robert Monroe, while also creating several new acoustic concepts including his "Primordial Sounds," which are natural sounds which have been sped up or slowed down to the point where they are no longer consciously recognizable, but the unconscious still does. This creates a trance. Thompson also entered into an exclusive arrangement with NASA to release sounds of the outer planets of the solar system recorded by Voyager. These recordings are the true "music of the spheres." The 5-cd set, "Symphonies of the Planets" is totally worth the price. I consider Thompson to be the leading exponent of brainwave music, per se. The cd, "Windows," is exhilirating. A Must Have. The four cd, "Brainwave Suite" is a classic. The 2004 release, "Awakened Mind System 2.0" is the best use of the optimal meditation brainwave matrix i've heard yet and must rank as one of Thompson's best works. I can enthusiastically recommend the first 5 discs in this series for any beginner in the adventure of using sound to meditate! Dane Spotts' UltraMeditation System The Nineties produced a deluge of new artists not only in the more traditional genres, but also the new "rave-ambient" genre.It would be an overly long list to describe everyone who has arrived on the scene. Allow me to indicate a few highlights. . . . Ralph Losey is producing meditative music using a tuning based on the golden ratio. "Primasounds" is a great disc. "Gatekeeper" is more taciturn, but wonderful also. He can be reached throught the School of Wisdom in Florida. check out Ralph Losey's website Tamas Laboratorium has been producing high-quality brainwave music for many years, but i am just now finding a suitable link. This music uses the "Hemi- Sync" technology for synchronizing the hemispheres of the brain, along with mathematical fractal and chaos patterns for tone progressions (rather than "melody." While somewhat abstract, it is ideal for enthusiasts of fractal music and is very effective for trance. I have found "Visions of Space and Time" to be classic brainwave electronica. I also can highly recommend the recent "Water Planet" disc (anybody looking for interesting natural sounds of water with synthesis will enjoy this.)"Living Structures" is a great disc & for those who really want to stretch out, try the 2cd "Eternal Elements" which has four half-hour pieces for each of the four elements. A lot of these music has mandala-like patterns similar to Robert Rich's "Geometry" cd. Tamas Laboratorium info Even though I can't find a web link in English, I want to tell you about Joachim Ernst-Berendt's "Primordial Tones" series. These are a series of cd's which feature a monochord drone instrument called a sandawa. Each 20min piece is keyed to the fundamental tone of the planets. This tone is arrived at by a calculation based on the fact that a planet's single revolution around the sun is a cycle which can be expressed in hertz. By the law] of the octave, there is at least one audible harmonic tone to this fundamental. Primordial Tones 1 is from Destiny Recordings. 2 and 3 are from Aquarius International Music. Ernst-Berendt website (in German, sorry) Brian E. Paulson is from Indiana and has some impressive works of ambient continuum music. "Brian's Brain Busters" may be one of the greatest efforts at pure brainwave music. "Delta Bliss" and the near perfect "Mystic Rain" (this last featuring DNA photon resonance sound matrix) are great for relaxation and healing. "Power Of Seven" features an entrainment matrix which resonates the heart chakra w/drum track - potent stuff! His 2002 release, "Pulse Of Life," ranks among his best work. It features a beautiful resonance keyed to the Earth Year (second only to "Mystic Rain,") coupled with a drum track more varied and playful than on "Power Of Seven." go to Brian E. Paulson's website Brian Caldwell of Sedona, Arizona has recently come to my attention with the release of all of his works on cd. "Harmonic Planet" features the classic, Harmonic Brainwave Synergy. "Creativity Generator" is also quite good. You can get hooked on this stuff. Caldwell's music is sacred geometry. Sonic mandalas gently swirling. go to Caldwell's site Shapeshifter has created a number of visionary discs that i am just becoming aware of. The DNA Activation Series is head-over-heels far out! Coming during the transmission wave of the late 80s/early90s, this stuff sounds totally current and is nourishing to the energy body! Right now, they have an introductory offer for DNA cd #1, which i recommend highly. This disc conferred some very positive changes on me. The website is very interesting. Check it out. The recent "Shamballa" disc is wonderful! Go To Shapeshifter's Website Bob Dratch is the founder of Dolphin Hyper- Resonance Institute. Utilizing his own "Livingness Process" and "Holoform" technologies, he has produced several intriguing works. "Dolphin Resonance" and "Cetacean Luminescence" are two works emphasizing cetacean consciousness. Using the music of Michael Hammer as a base, Dratch builds a sonic sculpture around it using the sounds of dolphins and whales. I am particularly impressed by "Critter Cleaner," which is not musical but is "healthy noise" with brainwave pulse rates which will clear out all negative etheric entities that might be hanging around. I experienced several clarifying shifts while playing it the first time. Dratch's "Ultraclear" is available from 4dshift.com. This half hour recording has a quite prominent brainwave pulse which reminds me of a 16mm movie projector, but it feels good! Many cosmic sounds cause energy to flow up and down one's body. The aftereffect is a pronounced clarification of the third eye. Acquire the "sounds only" cd, as the others have voice affirmations.
