My goddess has a gap-toothed smile Imperfect, irrepressable, beautiful, divine Leaping, soaring, laughing with delight She kindles playful sparking fires She tends the humble dog-rose She is mother to the capricious wind. My goddess has unruly hair Imperfect, irrepressable, beautiful, divine Grinning, dashing, dancing in the leaves She pulls gentle pranks on hapless humans She gifts the world with love and hope She comforts the lonely ones. My goddess has lanky limbs Imperfect, irrepressable, beautiful, divine Flying, circling, swooping down She tugs your collar She tweaks your sleeve She musses your hair Inviting you to join in the game... Windsong Silver spirit whispers Merges with the breeze Sleek airstream Windsong lingers Swiftly spirals Climbs and dives Stretches out a silent thought Yearning for a cloudy height Trickster's breath Eyelash flutters Treetops rustle Clasping wind-fingers Fleeting hand-shake Earth and sky reborn In sky-eyed flier children |
Invocation of Airplane I offer libations of oil to you dear spirit of the sky. I give my heart and soul to you when together we fly. I check every cranny, nook and crack in return, you always carry me back and show me things I'd never thought I'd see In you, I am the person I never thought I'd be. Come now, you creature of the air for skies above are blue and fair Though some say "boring is that vanilla plane" we have things in common, we are much the same. I dream of you in nightly wanderings and stand outside the fence a-wondering will I ever call you mine? Or, would you introduce me to your brother? Sister, cousin, or even elderly mother? You see, I'm a pilot without a plane who knows that Cessnas are NOT all the same but if they were, I'd love you anyway. Little spirit of the sky will you tell me when we'll fly? I'll be waiting with list and rag for when the next renter unloads his bag and leaves you free for me to love you again. |
