a little bit of history
About 1982 a group of 'mature' rugby players in Darwin decided they would like to attend the Golden Oldies Festival in Sydney. They rounded up a bunch of like minded souls and off they went. They had such a good time they've been going ever since.

Between tours they play a few games as an excuse to drink, visit other Golden Oldies in the Territory, attend the Alice Masters every two years and engage in a fairly vigorous social life.

Membership is open to everybody with an interest in social rugby. Players should at least APPEAR TO BE over 35.

The name of the team derives from a two litre bottle of beer that once was brewed in Darwin It is customary to share a bottle (or two) with the competition before the game.
