What is BBYO?

BBYO is the B'nai Brith Youth Organization. It is the largest Jewish Youth group in the world. It spans from the United States and Canada to Europe, South America, Israel, and the Scandinavian countries. There are two parts of BBYO. Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA) is the group for boys from grades 9-12. B'nai Brith Girls (BBG) is the group for girls from grades 9-12. BBYO costs 60 dollars a year, which includes a subscription to the Shofar, the international BBYO newspaper. There are 5 levels of BBYO: International, Regional, Council, Chapter, and Member. Some areas are called districts. This chapter is Henry Barnston BBG #318 in Greater Houston Council. Greater Houston Council and Small Cities Council (Austin & San Antonio) make up Lonestar Region #73. To sign up, go to your local BBYO office. Lonestar's Regional Office is located at the JCC's Merfish Teen Center on Rice and North Braeswood in Houston, TX.
