Fishing on Lake Nipissing - Fishing Tips | ||||||||
Introduction Fishing on Lake Nipissing can be very different from what you are accustomed to. The lake is huge, roughly 20 miles x 50 miles. It is windy much of the time, and its bottom varies from barren rocky areas to heavily weeded sections. There are also many islands and rocky shoals that dot the southeastern part of the lake. If you are unfamiliar with the lake it can appear at first glance to be a daunting task to find and catch fish. Fortunately, the lake is filled with great numbers of fish and many species ranging from muskie to bluegill.
