Dalmatians are very clean dogs, they keep themselves very clean by licking themselves like a cat.
They do not have a doggy smell, and require bathing once a month.
A regular brushing with a rubber hair brush, (metal ones are too harsh on a Dallys short coat), will help with house shedding, especially if you do it every day.
You can bathe your dog yourself, with a mild shampoo, or get him hydrobathed. We recommend the latter as Dallys are subject to rust discoloration on their backs. Fortnightly hydrobathing eliminated this problem.
