marching...forever marching in our memories

War
I think to myself by looking down
At the graves I see below.
I wonder why in the
blood red ground,
The people fought for peace.
The painful moans and the deadly cries,
Are about to make you scream.
The death of the bodies that didn't come back,
Are underneath the crosses.
Now the fight is down forever and now,
The thunder roars, but we'll always remember.
The soldiers who fought for the country called Canada.
So when you leave to go say goodbye,
Just remember when you look down.
You wonder why in the
blood red ground,
The soldiers, who fought for peace.
The leader, who lead the determined soldiers to battle.
The determined soldiers who battled the strong enemy,
From dusk to dawn.
Are now resting in peace.
So that is why we wear the poppies.
Remembrance Day -- to remember the frightened soldiers,
Who fought for the country, Canada.
