| Only three clubs conceded fewer goals than Marítimo in the Superliga last season, and Marcos' consistency between the posts was a major reason for that. He made his debut against Vitória Setúbal, after joining from Brazilian top division side Paraná in January 2003, and although the verde-rubros lost 1-0, Marcos quickly demonstrated why he was ranked as one of the top goalkeepers in the Brazilian League. His agility, reflexes and quick reactions have resulted in some spectacular, memorable saves, and many fans have likened him to former Marítimo stopper Ewerton. |
