| An experienced central midfielder, Chaínho won the Portuguese title and two Taça de Portugal's with Porto before leaving Portugal to play in Spain (with Real Zaragoza) and Greece (with Panathinaikos).
Neither experience proved particularly fulfilling and he returned home to sign for the verde-rubros last summer (2003). The Angolan born player has played over 200 league games in the Portuguese top flight - around half of them for his first club, Estrela Amadora, where he was signed from the youth team of Casa Pia. Now in his second season at the club, Chaínho's good aerial abilities, positioning and off-the-ball attributes have adapted well to Cajuda's tactics and style of play. |
