Crystina the day she came home. |
The Story I got pregnant with Crystina 5 months after my first miscarriage. I was really excited to be pregnant. My pregnancy with Crystina went very smoothly. I was nervous alot and made more trips to the doctor than were necessary. At 30 weeks, I began cramping and spotting. I went to the doctor and it was determined that I was beginning labor. They admitted me into the hospital and fortunately, my labor was stopped. I went home the next morning on moderate bed rest. Luckily, I didn't have to take meds to prevent the labor again. On May 11, 3 days before my due date, I went for my 40 week exam. It was determined that I was 2 cm dilated. However, since there wasn't much else going on with me, I was sent home with instructions when to come back. On May 13, the night before my due date, I went to the hospital because I was having severe cramps. The nurse checked me and I was at 0 cm. Huh? Confused me! They were going to release me the next morning, but as I was using the restroom before changing, my water broke. They let me stay rather than send me home. I got an epidural around 11:00 am and stayed "out" for the afternoon. It wore off around 5:00 pm. My cervix had really done nothing. It was totally confusing. It wouldn't STAY dilated. Weird, huh? They gave me something to induce me - just to make my cervix do something. I WAS having contractions. At 5:30 pm I started the pushing stage of labor. At 7:57 pm, Crystina Leighanne made her entrance in the world. |
