4. All
Demons are Bad… Especially Naraku
Human InuYasha
was still suffering as normally would, but there was something else to it. He
knew Kagome was upset with what was going on, but there was no other way to
keep her safe from Naraku. Once Naraku discovered he couldn’t kill Demon
InuYasha he would try to either absorb him or hire him.
“You’re
awfully depressed InuYasha, something wrong?” Kikyo asked. She was being really
nice today, it seemed like she was actually turning around.
“Not really,
just wondering where we’re headed,” InuYasha asked.
“To the one
place Naraku doesn’t know about that you do, your home,” Kikyo said with a
tragic smile.
“
“But that’s
the safest. That and they’ll do anything their Lord asks,” Kikyo said calmly,
“besides I looked into your background, why didn’t you tell any of us you’re a
prince?” InuYasha looked to mortified to answer, Kikyo would soon learn of why.
“Is that so? I
thought he was acting odd…” Kagome said watching Demon InuYasha twitch with
annoyance as he slept. It was nightfall and the Demon was not sleeping well, he
was snarling a lot more than when he was awake.
“Someone seems
to messing with Human InuYasha… Apparently they’re like twins in a way,
transmitting each others thoughts and emotions,” Sango said almost laughing as
he spazzed.
“That’s got to
be really bad, should we wake him up?” Miroku asked.
“Don’t think
we have to… Look!” Kagome shouted, they looked in horror to see Naraku starring
at them. Kagura was on one side with Kanna on the other. Demon InuYasha stood
up and twitched his nose.
“Filthy
Vermin, what are you doing here?” Demon InuYasha asked.
“I wish to
know your objective, after splitting apart what do you plan to do with them?”
Naraku asked.
“That’s none
of your business you stupid Half Breed. Go pester something your own breed!”
Demon InuYasha said and walked off.
“What if I
said I could help you?” Naraku said in his cold tone.
“How and with
what?” he said with a snarl.
“I could rid
you of your human half once you combine again, what would you think?” Naraku
answered. Kagura sat on her feather impatiently waiting for him to finish.
“I’d ask how
soon,” he asked grinning evilly.
“As soon as we
pick him up,” he replied, “if that interests you follow us to the castle.”
“Are we done?”
Kagura asked annoyed. Naraku dropped a hive of insects and then set out a fog
of miasma.
“Now we’re
done,” with his offer standing he laughed evilly as they took off for the
castle. Demon InuYasha thought about it for a second, it sounded good to him.
“InuYasha you
can’t go with him, he’ll only cause you more pain!” Kagome shouted before she
started coughing. Demon InuYasha just laughed.
“I won’t feel
anymore of it if I’m not human! Besides once he does I’ll kill him and take
that blasted jewel,” he shouted and took off. That was when the Inu Tachi
decided they were in serious trouble. InuYasha wasn’t evil there was no way
that the half demon that they had trusted with their lives countless times
before was evil. Well… maybe the full demon side was… but that still left that
friend that always been there for them. There was no way that the InuYasha they
knew and trusted would ever help Naraku, never! They had to find Human InuYasha
and Kikyo before Naraku did, and that was going to take a lot of luck since
they had no idea where to start…
InuYasha felt
a chill as he woke up the next morning. Kikyo had been watching over him all
night with soul collectors patrolling the area around the village they were
staying in. The people around them didn’t even bat an eye at the two, they
looked like a good couple to them. She didn’t even look tired, in comparison he
had slept at least 15 hours and still looked like shit.
“Kikyo are
sure we want to go there?” he asked. He still didn’t think it was a good idea
to return to that dump.
“Yes, now
let’s go while your awake. I don’t want anybody sneaking up on us,” she
replied.
“Great, but is
it worth going back there? Kikyo can we please go somewhere else?” he asked in
a begging voice, “I got an idea, what about DemonSlayer village? Naraku already
destroyed it so why would he go there?”
“Well I think
you’ve got an idea there, the place with Midoriko’s cave?” Kikyo asked,
InuYasha nodded. She called her soul collectors and they started toward the
abandoned village. She didn’t notice that one of her soul collectors she had
sent to follow the other InuYasha was already back.
Sango was
running out of ideas. Miroku was getting writers cramp from writing so many
extra sutras. Kagome was frustrated to the brink of insanity. None of them knew
where to find InuYasha, or even where to begin looking. They were on their way
back to Kaede’s village when a lone soul collector appeared with a note in its
jaws. It was from Human InuYasha. All of them let out a sigh of relief; they
were still safe for the time being. That meant Kikyo was still with him and
keeping watch over him. They opened the note to see some rather sloppy
handwriting.
Hey guys,
hope you’re not ready to kill the other me yet. Kikyo says were going to stay
out of Naraku’s line of site by staying right under his nose. If you guys need
us we’ll be in Midoriko’s cave at DemonSlayer Village. InuYasha
PS. Sango,
sorry we didn’t ask you first.
Sango just
about started laughing, they were in the one place Naraku would never find
them. That was so simple, why didn’t she think of it? Leave it to InuYasha…
Kagome was so happy she started crying; it was Shippo who asked when they would
be leaving.
“Right now,
Kirara let’s go!” Sango yelled. That was all they need to boost their morale.
Kagome cheered silently as they flew off for Sango’s home Village. Miroku was
the only one to notice that there was a familiar aura in the area. He shrugged
it off and joined the others in enjoying their discovery.
Kikyo and
Human InuYasha were both surprised when they saw the others arrive. Kikyo
looked surprised when she saw Demon InuYasha wasn’t there. Human InuYasha
wasn’t surprised that he wasn’t there, not at all. That’s when Kagome ran
forward and hugged InuYasha tightly.
“Miroku go put
your sutras up quickly. We don’t need any company until we’re ready,” Sango
said quietly, “Shippo you go help Miroku.”
“What’s wrong
Kagome? Did something happen?” InuYasha asked. He was sure he knew what was
going on, there could be only one reason for this.
“Demon
InuYasha joined Naraku… They’re planning to rid themselves of you. Demon
InuYasha just wouldn’t listen to me…” Kagome said crying. InuYasha didn’t look
surprised at all.
“Minor set
back, he’s not unstoppable… at least with this on my side,” InuYasha held up
the Tetsusaiga, “don’t worry Kagome. He won’t get rid of me so easily.” Kikyo
smiled and then Kagome did.
“There is
always a chance as long as we work together Kagome, but he is the only one who
can truly put a stop to it. You ready InuYasha?” Kikyo asked. InuYasha nodded
and put a hand on Kagome’s shoulder.
“No one’s
going to let that happen, and no one is going to hurt my friends!” InuYasha
said. He was a lot healthier for some reason, maybe she shouldn’t have worried…
“I hate to
ruin a moment, but Naraku and Demon InuYasha are headed this way. So get ready
for a tumble,” Sango yelled. Everyone tensed up, Kirara transformed in to her
bigger form. Everyone was ready for this battle, including InuYasha. There was
no way he was going to hide if his friends were in danger. Let the battle begin!
Heh, sorry that
took so long to get up… I was having a lot of problems. The first was a major
case of writers block, the second was a lack of Internet connections. I hope
you all can forgive me and still enjoy reading the Broken Reflection.
