2. Human or
Demon?
It was the
night after the full moon, a week after the whole Kaguya incident. InuYasha was
not adjusting to being human very well… Kagome was mad because she could not
make him sit, so she ended up deciding that they had to fix the
InuYashas. Her solution was to find some way to fix them. Miroku had chained
Demon InuYasha inside the cave where Onigumo had once stayed, and he put sutras
everywhere to keep him from escaping.
Of course
there were side affects to being only half of a person for longer than the new
moon was gone… Human InuYasha suffered greatly, he kept puking up whatever he
ate. Demon InuYasha could eat whatever he wanted without problem though… They
discovered it was best to let Human InuYasha bring him food so that no one got
attacked. At first Demon InuYasha had a rather violent reaction to seeing Human
InuYasha and figuring out they were the same person. He hit Shippo several
times, and hurt several villagers who accidentally found where Miroku had
stashed him.
The worst
affect of this was probably what happened to Human InuYasha. He couldn’t be up
and around for more than five hours at a time, other wise he’d pass out. Then
Kagome would get worried and she’d try to drag him through the well. Then Demon
InuYasha would let out screams pain that could deafen even the deaf! That was
all she needed as she tried to send Human InuYasha through the well, in the end
she gave up that habit.
Since then she
had been attending school, and every cram session available. Since InuYasha
couldn’t travel through the well in his condition she decided to be fair and
come on the weekends, that way she could see him without having to much problems. We join Human InuYasha on his way towards
the
“Damn that
Kagome, when I was a half demon I could at least do get her,” he was sick of
this lousy routine. That’s when he heard Demon InuYasha growl, it was a deep
annoyed growl. The sky turned dark within a matter of seconds.
“Get in here
now!” was all Human InuYasha heard. Thinking that something was wrong in the
cave Human InuYasha ran down towards Demon InuYasha.
“What’s
wrong?” Human InuYasha yelled impatiently.
“That baboon
creep you keep telling me about is coming. If you die I do, not going to
happen,” Demon InuYasha growled, “ Park it, besides
your friends are on their way.”
“How do you
know? Kagome isn’t even here,” Human InuYasha said quietly. He heard Miroku
leading the villagers towards the cave. He shouted down to Human InuYasha.
“InuYasha! Keep him contained the whole village is coming into the
cave!” Miroku yelled down.
“Is it
Naraku?” Human InuYasha shouted back.
“Either he’s
looking for a new addition to his body or…” Sango cut Shippo off.
“Or he’s
looking for us,” Sango replied leading the villagers down into the depths of
the cave. Shippo came down with the next set, the villagers were terrified, and
especially once they saw the InuYashas. Miroku came with the final group, that
group was probably the calmest. Kaede was standing at the rear of the group.
“Why don’t yee
take Demon InuYasha up to the front to guard thee entrance?” Kaede asked.
“What do you
want old hag?” Demon InuYasha promptly snapped back as he was unchained. Human
InuYasha made a path through the group of villagers.
“I wish Kagome
was here,” she said quietly, “Oh I like not the looks of this.”
“Let’s go
before we get in trouble,” InuYasha said to his Demon self. The two of them
were given a nice wide path to entrance. Soon after Human InuYasha collapsed,
Sango caught him before he hit the ground.
“He picks the
best times doesn’t he?” she replied, “You don’t mind if I wait up here do you?”
He shrugged; his blood red eyes gave her the creeps. Sango was trying not to
make Demon InuYasha mad, because they apparently needed his assistance to fend
off Naraku. She wanted revenge, but she was second to InuYasha, both halves of
him.
“Whatever,”
Demon InuYasha growled. He was staring out into the darkness for a while when
they saw soul collectors coming towards the cave. Kikyo appeared in front of
them and stepped in quickly, she had small cuts on her sleeves. That’s when
InuYasha started to stir.
“InuYasha…
Naraku is approaching quickly,” she said looking at Demon InuYasha, “what do
you plan to do?”
“Kill the
bastard, what else?” Demon InuYasha replied, a smug
smile crossed his face. Kikyo bent down towards the barley conscious InuYasha,
Demon InuYasha growled at her.
“Do really
hate me that much?” Kikyo asked innocently, “I’ll watch over him while you go
after Naraku if you want.”
“I wish Kagome
could have heard that,” Shippo said as he and Miroku joined them at the
entrance, “so any plans?”
“Kill the
bastard,” Demon InuYasha was thinking about Kikyo’s offer. He couldn’t protect
the human while he fought Naraku, but this was the woman who the other said had
sealed them to a tree for fifty years.
“This is what
I always wanted, but not like this…” Kikyo said stroking his hair,
Demon InuYasha snarled out of habit, “so I should just help you guys in the
battle?”
“No… watch
him,” Demon InuYasha growled, he pointed at Human InuYasha, “Fox brat, you too.
If he gets hurt I will kill anyone responsible for it.” Demon InuYasha looked
Kikyo in the eye to confirm that she was staying. Shippo was happy to be
forgotten about on that measure. Him, Sango, Miroku and Kirara left to battle
Naraku.
Once Kaede had
the villagers settled down resting she approached the entrance. She was shocked
to see Kikyo sitting down with Human InuYasha sprawled out in front of her.
Shippo continued to watch for the others, hoping to see a glimpse of the battle
against Naraku.
“Kikyo what
are yee doing here?” Kaede asked. Kikyo looked at her,
she actually looked like she was at peace.
“I came
because of Naraku, but I think I’d rather be here than there,” Kikyo replied, a
small tragic smile spread on her face, “InuYasha, are you awake?”
“As awake as a
half a person can be… Thanks Kikyo,” he said, InuYasha smiled his own tragic
smile.
“I bet you
don’t know where I am, ha ha ha!” Naraku yelled as he spread his Miasma around
the group. Demon InuYasha was taking on Naraku with Miroku while Sango fought
off Kagura, and Kanna just watched from afar as Sesshomaru arrived. He joined
Sango, Miroku, and Demon InuYasha without hesitation.
“Die InuYasha!” Naraku shouted loudly as he tried to cut
demon InuYasha with his tentacle hands. What Naraku didn’t seem to get was that
he was not even the slightest bit human, so he dodged easily. Sesshomaru and
Demon InuYasha charged him and knocked him down. Naraku tried to whip them with
one of his tentacle hands, but he hit Miroku instead.
To quote Demon InuYasha, “Dead already?” Miroku had a cut
across his left shoulder. Miroku stood up quickly; he was flush in the face.
Sesshomaru and Demon InuYasha just kept after Naraku until he retreated. The
odd thing is he left Kagura and Kanna there. Sesshomaru followed the bastard
for them.
“Naraku, that
bastard… making us stay behind,” Kagura muttered.
“Half Demon,”
Kanna said, Demon InuYasha snarled “you need to find Kaguya’s mirror in order
to restore yourselves to normal.” Kanna looked at him, she showed no emotion,
Kagura was furious though.
“That’s what
you needed to tell them? Why did I have to stay then?” Kagura was just being whiny,
“wait did you say ‘yourselves’? I thought there was only one InuYasha Kanna.”
“Shut up,”
Demon InuYasha growled, “you’re in the way.” He advanced to tried
to cut down Kanna, but the void demon merely stepped backward.
“InuYasha
sit!” came a yell from near the cave, “she’s offering you advice, so you should
take it!” Demon InuYasha couldn’t hear what she said at all, he was far too mad
at being in another hole.
“Kagome!” Human InuYasha came running out of the cave, “don’t do
that, that’s Kanna of the void.” Kikyo was at his heels as he ran towards her.
Kikyo looked at Kagome with a rather unpleasant face,
Kagome looked at Kikyo with a similar expression. Kagome noted she was holding
his Tetsusaiga, InuYasha’s most valuable possession.
“Why do you
have the Tetsusaiga Kikyo?” Kagome asked, Human InuYasha went over and helped
Demon InuYasha out of the hole. He was mad to the point that his teeth were
bared at Kagome. She glared right back towards him, the glare died before it
hit his aura.
“I’ll kill you
for that,” he snarled. Human InuYasha stood in front of him shaking his head.
“You can’t
hurt Kagome,” he said coldly, “that would make all the times we saved her from
demons a waste of our time. Besides we need someone who can sense the jewel.”
“Is that all I
am to you? A freaking jewel detector?” Kagome took the
Tetsusaiga from Kikyo and smacked it over Human InuYasha’s head, “I’m going
home, and you can let your precious dead former lover be a jewel detector.”
“At least she
shuts up once in a while,” Demon InuYasha retorted.
“At least she
can protect herself,” Human InuYasha yelled at the already mad schoolgirl.
“That does it,
InuYasha SIT! SIT! SIT!” Kagome yelled, then
she smacked Human InuYasha across the face, “speak for yourself you idiotic
half brained twit!”
“Go back to
your own time!” Kikyo answered, the former priestess
had an arrow knocked, “you are only causing more stress return to your own time
NOW!” Kikyo released the arrow so that it barley missed Kagome.
“Damn, I
thought we had issues…” Kagura said, she plucked out her feather and rode away
with Kanna in wind. They had to follow after Naraku, but Kagura was more
worried about the two priestesses arguing then Naraku’s orders.
“Wench, you
let them get away!” Demon InuYasha growled, then Human InuYasha whispered
something to him, “what? She’s going to what if I do—”
“Not worth
it,” he said quietly.
“What are you
talking about?” Kagome looked at Human InuYasha, then at the scowling Demon
InuYasha. Demon InuYasha was not looking too happy; in fact he was beat red.
Human InuYasha stared at his expression with a priceless expression.
