-Committed to good, honest communications between Players and Hosts-

The following are notes of what's been and what's to be posted. All listed are GM approved. This page is updated frequently so please check back soon.

12/15: Character updates ending 30 November are finished. Actually they were done awhile ago, just missed posting it here. My apoligies. If anyone was missed or has a concern about their character please contact the help desk. We will respond to you a.s.a.p

12/1: Well. :: Exhales :: We made good on our promise. We ran hard through the end of November, and speaking for myself, I'm wiped. The December (Final) Sandpaper has been released, the Final Quest has been run, and it's all chronicled in the Sandpaper and the Journal. Thanks for a great run, but don't think for a minute that we're done..We're just warming up :)

Help Desk has a player (you know who you are) upset about being Taken By Disease. Now, generally, I'd ask to hear the entire story, and maybe reconsider if there were extenuating circumstances. But after seeing copies of the correspondence..My response to this is: Read the rules. "Activity" of a character is deemed by ..activity. Doing drive-bys, i.e., popping in the room to see who's there, isn't roleplaying activity. (A player in Quest today let us know that you were seen doing that, and that only.) You could've contributed to the Sandpaper or participated in the Journals. Those are xp-awarding activities. The last quest you were seen participating in was in September. As stated in the rules as well: If one is to be away for a significant period of time, a courtesy e-mail to the help desk letting us know ahead of time would've given you eligibility for review for active status without being there. While checking this page is a smart start, the best Crystal Shores players also check the Journals and the Sandpaper. If you didn't, I'm sorry, but those pages aren't made available for nothing. In closing, as the player in question used a character name that's not permitted due to its widely-known and unoriginal syntax, (this slipped through the cracks at posting) this is all a moot point, because at Update, the character would've been deleted regardless, since it was never in compliance with the Crystal Shores RPG rules about originality. The character in question is taken by disease, the ruling stands.--ExiledGM

11/8: Panic is spreading amongst the characters, and rightfully so...Why? Because they've read the November Edition of the Sandpaper and thus far only have each other to speculate with. A grisly death on Halloween was the kick-off and watch the Journal Board for the Announcement of time/place for Installment #1 of the Quest Series Announcement. See you there!

10/23: This update's been a long time coming for one reason and one reason only: There is a major, major event, or, more accurately, a plethora of major events that are coming, and to release anything but this advisory would spoil the surprises... What's going to happen is going come quickly, and snowball into something the likes you've never seen. If you choose to participate, you will be playing hard and intensely. If you don't, don't say you weren't asked. To not give too much away, I am going to refer you to the November Edition of the Sandpaper, released 1 November..not early this time around, because, once more, too much is about to happen that will take your gaming here well into next year, so I can only advise that you pay attention, close attention, and get ready to gear up.

Last time around, GMockery was kind enough to do the Character Updates for me, and of course, an entire month's Sandpaper was issued for October. But with the work back here..something even I didn't see coming in the twists and turns..I've gotten a bit lax on updating this page, so kindly accept my apologies..but I sense you'll forget all about being slighted on this page's updates when you see what's in store for you :) --ExiledGM

9/15: Character Updates for the term ending 13 September are complete. Submissions for the October Edition of the Sandpaper are still being accepted and will continue to be accepted through September 26th. Thanks to those who participated in the GMockery/GMOmnus quest the other night-the turnout was extremely impressive. :)

9/3: The official relaunching of Achethe has arrived. While the Achethe Star for September is sparse, this was not due to a lack of work by staff. Achethe has just come out of Riots and is regrouping; it's up to its citizenry what happens next.

ExiledGM sends regards to players and staff, with word that he expects to return as soon as humanly possible. For those of you who are aware of the problem, let's just say he's the same ornery cuss you know and love..and THEN some. *smirks*

8/31: The September edition of the Sandpaper has been released. Remember its never to soon to send in your submissions for the next edition.

8/30: We are still in the running for Die Roller's Top 50. They have responded to our inquiry, explaining that it takes some time for the votes to "level" out. So we encourage you to continue to vote.

8/28: Character Updates for the term ending 28 August have just been completed. If you think you've been inadvertently skipped after checking your character sheet, please contact the Help Desk with a detailed note. Thanks.

The Sandpaper is being readied for release for 31 August. It has shaped up to be a fine Edition.

An email has been sent from staff to RPG Gateway. For some reason, we've 'disappeared' from Die Roller's Top 50 after being #1 less than 24 hours ago. We are requesting an inquiry as to why. Don't let this omission, which should be temporary, dissuade you from voting honestly and within RPG Gateway's rules, for Crystal Shores.

8/22: We've just reached #21 in the Die Roller's Top 50 RPG Sites! This is a great honor for us; for more information, visit RPG Gateway's site (Link available through Crystal Shortcuts).

The Sandpaper will be released by the 31st; now is the time to get your contributions in for the September edition. Character updates will be on or about the 27th, to allot time to calculate XP for those who opt to write for the Sandpaper for bonus rewards.

As always...Character WILLS are NOT honored if they're written -after- the character's death. Within the past month, not one but two people have tried not to bend, but snap the rule in half. One in the chatroom "found" a will in a deceased's peg leg, rolled and hidden; another left an 'unknown' entry on the Crystal Shores Journals Board. If your character needs a will, it is to be written while the character is -alive- and in the form of an e-mail to the Help Desk. It takes a minute or two. To ensure your character's property goes where you wish it to go in the event of death, take a moment and write the will -now.-

The Auction is on: Bayside Bazaar Auction has a listing of what's available; minimum bids, and an official order form. Don't miss this rare opportunity.

8/15: The Crystal Shores RPG Web Ring powered by RPG Gateway is now operating. For more information, please visit the Crystal Shores RPG Web Ring Page.

Yesterday, the Crystal Shores RPG Staff Team's ExiledGM officially signed off on his complaint with RPGworlds against Dhalethra RPG, now that the disputed matter on their site has been amended. Charges brought have now been dropped and will remain so for as long as Dhalethra remains in compliance with the agreement made. We have even gone so far as to promote the 'new' Dhalethra with a link on our Crystal Shortcuts page. We wish them well.

8/13: Character updates are now completed as promised. If you don't see yours updated, and you feel you've earned it, please contact the help desk.

8/6: The relaunching of Achethe is extremely close at hand. You are asked to watch this space for more information as it becomes available.

8/4: Work has now begun on another new site for those who are priests. More information will follow, so check back here often.

8/3: The Magik of Mages site is now completed!! We urge you to visit it Here. Even if your character is not a magic user, you should be familiar with what could happen to you if you engage in battle with one.

7/29: Work is almost Completed on the Magik of Mages site. It is listed under the Classes/Mages link on the main page of CS.

Character updates are (finally) done. I apologize for the delay. The cable modem was having problems, and you're sadly, SADLY mistaken if you think updates will be done with a WebTV any longer, LOL! Anyway, sorry for the delay. If you've earned an update and don't see it posted, first refresh the page. If it's still not there, please contact the Help Desk. Thanks for your patience :)

7/24: The August Edition of the Sandpaper has just been released. Your character updates are scheduled for tomorrow.

7/21: Bjorn Lynne's music, as most of you know, is a huge asset to our game. We have his site linked to most of our pages here in CS. So when we discovered that he offers reciprocated links, we took advantage of it. Visit Bjorn Lynne's Music and check out the links page!!!!

7/20: Work has begun on the Magik of Mages site, which will give all magic using players a better feel for what is basic protocal of magic here at Crystal Shores. More updates to follow on this as work progresses. So stay tuned.

7/16: Bidding for the available shoppes in receivership/inventories will be closed on August 15th. Now is the time to submit a sealed bid (use your imagination as well as staying within the limits of your available GP, unless you take an approved Bank loan), or at very least, to start the paperwork :)

7/12: A mini-update just took place for the characters who completed the quest series from this week. Next update is scheduled for the end of July.

We're continuing to review Sandpaper submissions for the August edition; you've still time to submit yours. Thanks in advance.

7/10: Effective immediately, if an established Crystal Shores player writes the Help Desk with special requests, and gives a reply-to address that is either defunct or filled past storage capacity, an XP penalty may be levied. Special circumstances (i.e., player away on vacation and mail built up in his absence) will be considered, but only if player contacts the Help Desk regarding same. The GMs do not have the time to not only entertain and respond to requests, but deal with bounced-back mail.

If you have submitted a character within the last several days and it's not posted, check your email; several were sent back for modification with explanations. All approved new character registrations are up-to-date as of 4:00pm EST today.

Character Updates for 7/10 are underway.

7/2: Character Updates are underway. If you have earned a Character Update but your sheet does not reflect one by 7/3, send info (your current SL, approx. times/dates you played and with whom) to the Help Desk.

6/28: Journals have been moved from Network54.com to This New Location for ease of use and better reliability.

6/26: The Updates from last night's quest (who would've expected the twists and turns?) have been completed to those who've earned them. These updates are in addition to the 6/24 update. The July Sandpaper was released at 3:30pm EST today, to accomodate our players who will be vacationing shortly.

Now, for something we're really excited about: Check out our new intro. Whether you're a veteran or a newbie to Crystal Shores, you can certainly appreciate this:

Almost as amazing as Crystal Shores, is that it's also compatible with WebTV.. :P .Thanks to GMockery for the work involved in the undertaking, and a belated welcome back to our own WarlockGM, whose upcoming column in the Sandbox (Editor's Section)..is..classic Warlock..
