Kentucky Cryptids
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Cryptids are creatures unknown to science, such as the Sasquatch, the Yeti, and the Loch Ness monster. Elusive by nature, they are known mostly through legends and eyewitness accounts. Physical evidence to support their existence is scarce, making cryptozoology (the study of cryptids) a rather difficult science. Despite the obstacles, cryptozoologists have discovered that cryptids are a worldwide phenomenon and are especially active in the United States.

Kentucky, rich in folk legends and lore, is said to be home to a variety of cryptids, including hairy manbeasts, water monsters, and oversized lizards. Click on the links to the right to learn more about Kentucky's cryptid population.
