Transformers

Transformers have been a part of my life ever since I can remember. The joy of robots that could 'transform' themselves into something else. There were toys and cartoons, though some of the toys looked quite different.

The toys. Transformers, now those were toys. First, they were made of die-cast metal, not the plastics of today! Then the toys could be changed into another form, like a car, plane and even a gun. *gasp!* (that's another story)

The cartoon. This series had to be one of the best of the eighties cartoons. I know I'm probably a little bias, but hey whose website is it? That's right. I loved the cartoons, and I love them even more now that I own them all again. That's right all 98 episodes plus the various forms of the incredible Movie.

After a long absence in the US, Transformers made a return in the form of a completely new series called Beast Wars, and more recent Beast Machines. This series follows the fight of the Maximals and Predicons, descendents of the Autobots and Decepticons. This series followed many years after the wars on Cybertron. And does not acknowledge any of the Japanese series.

Of course their is a lot to Transformers. Their are in fact continuing sagas of the Transformers of the fight between the evil Decepticons, or Destrons, and the Autobots, or Cybertrons. Destrons and Cybertrons are what the forces are named in the Japanese series. And the more recent Maximals and Predicons, and even Vehicons.

After the failure of the fourth season 'Rebirth' the Japanese took the concept of Transformers and continued the storyline. Also totally ignoring the entire fourth season pilot of the US episodes.
