Gundam Model Reviews

Note: All Gundam models require assembly but once put together are essentially an action figure.

Full Armor ZZ Gundam 1/100

This was by far the biggest figure I have put together. I bought this model to see what the bigger scale models were like. I didn't like a lot of things about the ZZ. One his armor just would not stay on very well. I spent most of my time putting armor back on when it fell and trying not to throw it against the wall in frustration. The model looks very nice, if you can get it to stand. This is a problem I haven't had with any of the previous gundams so I was unsure how to fix this. Overall the figure was fun to put together. It has many moving parts and is designed very well except for a few flaws.

Gundam Endless Waltz

DeathScythe Hell Custom 1/144

Knowing very little of the Gundam series, I basically bought this model on a whim and the fact that it looked pretty darn cool. I know it's a bad thing to say but it really did look neat. Well after putting it together and realizing it was a lot more work than the Rockman models I  had my very fist Gundam model. The articulation on the model is incredible and I only broke one piece (the scythe, of all things). And unfortunately the Gundam models are a lot easier to break than the Rockman series. This model is very unique, it has a formidable wingspan, that can be changed to various positions. The only thing I don't care for on these models is the stickers, except for the eyes--it's definitely need on the eyes. Overall this Gundam is very nice and I'm sure if I knew the anime better the figure would be better as well!

Wing Zero Custom 1/144

Coming from the same series as the DeathScythe, the Wing Zero Custom was my second Gundam model purchase. This figure is one of the best looking figures I've ever seen. The figure has a wing span wider than the DeathScythe's and has more possibilities for positioning. Basically this model confirmed my belief that the Gundam models are the best around. However, this model also demonstrates the one weakness of the 1/144 models that I've seen: The Hands. Unfortunately, the hands on both models are ill fitting. In the DSHC it was not a problem due to the lightweight of the scythe. However, in the WZC the guns weigh down the hands and do not allow for any positioning except down. I don't know if I'm not doing something right or what, but this proved to be the case in both models.

Gundam G

Neo Hong Kong Mobile Suit 1/100

After doing a little research I found out about the grade system of the Gundam models. Therefore I decided I should jump up a level and see how they compare. Still knowing nothing of the anime I again picked a model that was cheap and nice looking. Therefore I decided upon the Honk Kong suit model. This model is completely different from the other two models I own. With the 1/100 models there is more pieces and it is about twice the size and has a lot more articulation. This model, also with a wingspan (yes I like the wings!) is very impressive in all its various modes. This model for some reason only came with one set of hands and I was quite disappointed in this, but it did have 2 sets of arms! However, this model is my second biggest model I have and I'm looking forward to getting one of the 1/60 Master Grade Gundam Models.
