Biography

Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born on April 24^th 1982, she grew up in Burleson, Texas.

Kelly wanted to be a marine biologist until she saw “Jaws”.

Living with both her mum and dad, sister Alyssa and brother Jason until 6 years old when her parents divorced. Kelly’s mum, Jeanne, would later marry again.

  It was in 7^th grade that Kelly’s choral director heard her singing in a hallway and urged her to join the choir.

Kelly was deep into vocal activities through high school. Starring in musicals, performing overseas and earning top honors in the Texas All State Choir.    

  After high school and with many doors slammed in her face, Kelly and a friend moved to LA in the hope of starting a music career. After recording a demo her only link to the record industry fell ill, her car got towed and her apartment burned down. So, exhausted, Kelly began the long drive back to Texas.

  It was that night that Kelly’s best friend, Jessica, told her about this open audition to win a recording contract called “American Idol: Search for a Superstar”.
