Restoring democracy to America.
One neighborhood at a time.

Trust The People

CounterCoup.org Mission Statement
"To question the legitimacy of a Bush presidency, due to disenfranchisement and disregard for the will of the people" — adopted by the national steering committee, November 2000

"If election "irregularities" in one state are allowed to invalidate the nation's popular vote, then democracy is in real trouble." — Zack Exley, CounterCoup.org founder

FOR MORE ON WHO WE ARE...

This web site will no longer be updated on a daily basis. Yes, we still believe in Restoring Democracy.

However, this web site is a full-time enterprise that can no longer be maintained timely with the limited staff available.
(See our disclaimer.)

We are all volunteers with lives and jobs. We formed this alliance because we felt outrage & wanted to "do something".

This site will remain as an archive to our cause ~ Restoring Democracy ~ showing what a small group of people can do at a grass roots level to affect change. The links available will direct you to other valuable resources that can help you find an outlet to affect change and preserve our Democracy.

Any maintenance will be on a sporadic basis. If this situation changes, we will let you know.

Thank you for your support, contributions and e-mail this past year. They have been greatly appreciated.

In peace & solidarity,

CounterCoup.org web team

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world." ~ Margaret Mead

Fight First Amendment Zones

August 20, 2001 - "Protestors interested in a legal challenge to the authority by which the Secret Service and local police departments are banishing protestors of GWB to so-called First Amendment Zones, out of the hearing or sight of the intended protested occupant of the Oval Office, thereby illegally restricting our rights to Free Speech and Free Assembly, please contact us immediately. Especially all protestors in Texas are requested to contact us to join in a lawsuit by a San Antonio, Texas attorney and others in cooperation with the ACLU.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FREE SPEECH, Please Contact:
WeVote2002owner@smartgroups.com for information. Be prepared to give your real contact information so the attorney will be able to contact you directly. This is a very serious effort to right the wrongs being waged against our rights and freedoms guaranteed to us under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights."
