August 2002

Shane and I took our wives on their first whitewater jaunt ... the three (short) day trip from Rapides Enrages. They are, indeed, converts and I'm sure this won't be our last trip. Updates from this, and other trips should follow shortly -- at leat, as soon as the snow strats flying and the paddles get shoved up in the rafters of the shed.

Moved the site to sympatico. Fixed some more broken links. Minor text revisions.

August 2000

This is the first significant update, apart from fixing a few broken links and updating the currency rates, since I posted these pages in February 1999. Since then I've revisted the Coulonge, and had the opportunity to share stories with dozens of other paddlers who've experienced the Coulonge. Most of these updates are the direct result of contributions and suggestions from fellow trippers.

Added a Site Map. (If you like the layout, check out MindManager software from MindJet).
Added some much-requested Portage Notes to the River page. Click on the little portage signs.
Added some links to general Paddling Resources on the Resources page including:

Kevin Callan's book, "Further Up the Creek", which contains a description of the long weekend trip from Rapides Enrages.

Richard Munn's website, "Canadian Canoe Routes" which has a longer route description, from La Verendrye.

In the near future, I hope to add some more photographs and, perhaps, a page for contributions from fellow paddlers.
