The Oscars
Every year, Hollywood pauses to recognize greatness in filmmaking achievements.  We love to grovel over the beautiful stars, and the latest fashions.  But this year a not-so-handsome hobbit-sized man made his way to the front for the first time.  Director Peter Jackson of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy finally got his due, winning three Oscars® in one night.  Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Picture of the year.

At the Golden Globes, this spectacular fantasy was nominated in four categories and won them all.  With another clean-sweep, “King” received 11 nods and again won them all, making it the third film to take home the most Academy Awards ever.  The other two are also breath-taking epics, “Ben-Hur” and “Titanic”.

The “Rings” Trilogy was nominated for 30 Academy Awards and won 17 altogether.
