FREDDY vs. JASON
Movie Reviews
Rated: R- Pervasive Strong Horror Violence/Gore, Gruesome Images, Sexuality, Drug Use and Language.
I’ve been extremely angry at the horror genre for quite some time now.  For some reason, we got nothing but junk out of this particular category other than a select few.  The next horror movie (if you could even call it that) is "Freddy vs. Jason."  This is the one everybody’s been waiting for, for quite some time.  I can’t imagine how disappointed the real followers of the "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" films were.  This is nothing, but a piece of trash that should have been thrown away before it even made on paper as a script.  I hated this film with a passion.
This is the one where Freddy comes back (as he always does), but can’t do the damage he wants without his power.  And he can’t get that without some help...you guessed it, Jason.
One thing I didn’t like is how these two entities came together in the first place.  In the predecessors of this film, there was no evidence that Freddy and Jason could do this, and now they expect us just accept it.  There was no legitimacy to this error, and it was only a way of putting more splatter scenes in it.
Now don’t get the wrong idea that I just hate splatter films all together.  If you look, you’ll see that I loved the brilliant "Dawn of the Dead," a splatter film in every sense.  It was the fact that this film had no heart, no soul, and absolutely no good acting that made me so mad.  Other than Freddy and Jason, the only face most will recognize is that of Kelly Roland from the late Destiny’s Child.  She, as well as everyone in the cast, gets worse and worse as the movie progresses.
I couldn’t stand this movie any more than I could’ve eaten it.  It was a vile and disgusting piece of so-called cinema, and if you enjoy painful experiences watching movies...you’ll love this film.  "Freddy vs. Jason" was an awful movie and I have no problem giving it a ½ star.
