Summer Camp 100

Almost every year (since 1970s) the youth department of the Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church would prepare a camp for the young people in the church. Traditionally, the nature of the camping is evangelistic, i.e. the young people bring their non-believer friends and let God do His works during the camp.

The politics in our world is changing now. The tide of immigration from Hong Kong is gone, and it is getting harder and harder to invite friends to church. In addition, the youth department decides that the christians need spiritual food as well. Hence, people came up with the idea several years ago that "summer camp in the odd year, and Gospel Camp in the even year."

This year, 1999, is the odd year, and we are having our summer camp. This is the second time (the last time was 1997).
