HORNETS SIGN CONTRACT TO PLAY THE BEAVERS OF OREGON STATE

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--The California State University, Sacramento football team announced today the Hornets have signed a contract to play the Beavers of Oregon State University – an NCAA Div. I-A program and a member of the Pac-10 Conference – in Corvallis, Ore., during the 2003 regular season. The game is currently scheduled to be played at Reser Stadium on Sat., Aug. 30, 2003. It will mark the first game a Hornet squad has ever played against a Pac-10 team. The scheduled contest against the Beavers of OSU marks the third future game scheduled by the Hornets against an NCAA Div. I-A program. Earlier this year, the Hornets' coaching staff announced they scheduled games against the Spartans of San Jose State and the Aztecs of San Diego State. The last time Sacramento State took on a Div. I-A foe was during the 1993 season when the Hornets played the University of the Pacific.
