Obstetrical Anesthesia

The department provides anesthesia services for patients who are admitted to the labor and delivery suite. These services include:

• analgesia for labor and delivery
• anesthesia for caesarean sections
• anesthesia for post-partum tubal ligations
• anesthesia for cervical cerclage
• anesthesia for life-threatening emergencies

The labor and delivery floor is comprised of 12 labor suites, a prep room, three equipped operating rooms, and a postanesthesia recovery area to accommodate over 300 deliveries per month.
