The assessment will be based on the same criteria as your speaking and
listening presentation assessments you did with Chris Hoskins. You
will be asked to complete the assessments after the presentations.
Research Assignment (10%) (Due 19 September) |
Essay Question:
Explain why the approach you have chosen facilitates practical development.
This is an essay on ONE of the main themes raised in the case study
you will present, with references to the case study to illustrate points
raised in the essay. For example, themes could include conflict resolution,
participation, aid coordination, capacity building, planning techniques,
evaluation and monitoring techniques, WID/gender, etc.

It will be strictly within the six-page limit!

Relevant research and sources
Ability to link generalizations to specific examples
Writing must be well structured, and checked for spelling and grammar
Essay must be logically and attractively presented
Four Weekly Writing Tasks (20%) |
The tasks will be handed out each week, but you must only complete four. They will be up to two pages in length. You will also complete one page of reflections on the course with each assignment.
Two of these assignments must be handed in on the following due dates:
First two: 8 August
Last two: 11 September
