I Am Love

I am Love,
Intangible, yet easily attainable.
I am Love,
Majestic, and so simple.
I bring peace, and contentment,
And also harrowing pain.
I am the root of everything,
Or at least, I should be...
People enjoy making impossible complexities
Out of the most basic and simple.
People who are lost in this world,
Recklessly abandon the compass
That will guide them home.
Put your faith in me,
I shall never mislead you.
For I live in your heart,
And will forever remain.
I am Love,
Your light, your way, your salvation.

There lived a man, who remained in solitude;
No-one loved him, for no-one knew he existed.
He spent his days staring out to the sea,
Never dreaming, never aspiring
To be more than he was.

He seldom ate,
And when he did, it was not nourishing.
He only did as much as was required
To survive.
It never occurred to him to do otherwise.

There was little he did for recreation,
For his thoughts were too simple
For the concepts of fun, and entertainment.
He just remained in solitude,
Barely noticing the years as they fleeted by.

One evening, the sun set and in the morning,
The sun winked into the room
Across the man's face.
The man did not stir,
And the sun took no notice.

For the man's life had ended
Much as it had been while he lived.
No-one mourned him,
And the silence embraced him,
Wrapped him in its thick shroud.

The silence did not care
Whether he was alive or dead,
But at least now, there was peace.
He remained eternally in solitude;
No-one loved him, for no-one knew he'd existed.

I Love Her Dearly

I love her dearly,
Yet she knows this not.
I worship her secretly,
And pray that she'll love me,
Yet she knows this not.
Ah! Cruel heavens!
You have filled my heart with such love
For her,
And then made her blind,
So that she cannot see
Who holds her in such high esteem.
Many tell me there will be others
Whom I'll love more deeply,
But I know this is not true.
For as long as she lives,
My heart will beat for her,
And her alone.
I love her dearly

...Yet she knows this not.

     My Heart Is Singing

Something changed in me that day,
When I turned towards the light
That I'd ignored for years
And began to seek the right.

A glow erupted in me,
And tears fell down my face.
My whole body began to shake,
At last I'd been shown His grace.

Now my heart is singing,
And I cannot quell its voice,
Its song is growing louder
And it's not by my own choice.

I was just a young boy,
When first I knew the Lord.
Then I grew up and left Him,
Abandoning that road.

I thought I knew it all,
And what was left, I'd learn.
It never did occur to me
That to His love I'd turn.

Now my heart is singing,
And I cannot quell its voice.
Its song is growing louder,
And it's not by my own choice.

Now when I feel alone, and in the darkness I awake,
I lift my heart to Him, my life and faith behest;
When my vision wavers, and no-one seems to care,
I place my love and life in Him, for Father
does know best.

Now my heart is singing,
And I cannot quell its voice,
Its song is growing louder,
And it's not by my own choice.

Now the Lord is singing,
And all of Heaven too;
If you'll lift up your voice to join Him,
It's amazing what He'll do.

The world is singing with me,
The brave, the meek, the small;
The world is singing praises
For the Father of us all.

Now my heart is singing,
And I will not quell its voice,
For in it I know Jesus,
I'm glad I made that choice.

       It Wasn't Always This Way

The sun awoke this morning,
Shone across my face.
Sleepily I blinked,
Nudged from my secret place.

I lay there, adjusting,
My brain half in slumber,
Faded dreams from the night
That I could not remember.

I opened the curtain,
There the world lay before me.
I wondered, "Today,
What does God have in store for me?"

Y'see, it wasn't always this way,
No Christ, no cross, no God to look down on me.
I didn't used to think day by day,
No life, no love, just me in my fantasy.

The sun rose, as I watched,
The day in its infancy.
I smiled, as I thought,
"What a glorious day to be!"

I used to be so blind, so insecure;
Used to think I was all I would ever need.
Figured I could do it all on my own,
What a way to live, with no path to heed.

The light restores my faith,
And through it I see so clearly,
My love for God will remain
Throughout all eternity.

Y'see, it wasn't always this way,
No Christ, no cross, no God to look down on me.
I didn't used to think day by day,
No life, no love, just me in my fantasy.

It's sad, but it wasn't always this way,
No Christ, no cross, no God to look down on me.
I didn't used to think day by day,
But now, you can see, I put faith in His Majesty.

Y'see, it wasn't always this way,
No Christ, no cross, no God that would smile on me.
Yet, sure as the night will follow the day,
One day soon, I will shine with my Lord for eternity!
