| 1/11/99 -_ - | A new road has been opened from the village to the Litani lake.It starts at Al-Minshieh in the village and ends near Hanna Mansour's restaurant near the lake.The work was finished on the first of November 1999.This road goes through the lands in Al Awdi,it is a great shortcut for the villagers to visit their lands . | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 23/12/99 | For
the Christmas season,special light decorations were set
in all the village especially on the main street. A big
maghara was made near the fountain of al saha and another
one in front of the Sayde Church with big statues. A christmas tree was decorated in the church. All the Christmas decorations were set by the Aytanit Club . |

| 25/12/99 | On
Christmas Eve , the Aytanit Club (Nadi Aytanit)
organized a special celebration for the children :it
started with Christmas songs at the church of St-Georges
during the presence of the two priests Salloum and Tinn
,followed by a cocktail for all the parents and their
kids in the Aytanit Club.More than 60 gifts were
distributed to the kids living in the village of
Aytanit. The gifts contained toys and school stationary
... We thank the president of the club and all the members for their efforts in making the children in Aytanit live the Christmas spirit. |

30/12/99 - - The construction work of the new dome for the church of Al- Sayde in the village was completed..
| 5/1/2000 | Today
all the village was dressed in white for the first time
this year , the snow fell thick on the village making a
40cm cover of snow.A buldozer had to interfer to clear
the main roads. The snow fell heavily for two days and the outside temperature was almost zero degree C.The villagers were thankful ,epecially for the rain they were waiting for anxiously. |

current president of the municipal council of Aytanit
Ibrahim El-Ayem presented his resignation which was
accepted by the Mohafez. Elections of a new president will be held soon . |

5th of February 2000 - Today the elections for the
presidency of the municipal council of Aytanit village
took place between 11:00 and 12:00 Am at the governor of
the west bekaa area office (Kaem Makam) in Jeb Jannine
. Two members presented their candidacy for presidency of the municipal council : Mr. Georges Emile NAJEM and Mr Khalil Tanios KARAM . The session was directed and managed by the elder member Mr. Nemer Salim AOUN . After voting , the results were as the following: - Mr. Khalil KARAM got 5 votes. - Mr. Georges NAJEM got 4 votes. - 1 blank paper . - 1 paper was cancelled. Congratulations for the new President of Aytanit municipal council Mr. Khalil Tanios KARAM and good luck . |

ABBOUD got the third place in Lebanon at the Official
Lebanese Baccalaureat (Experimentals Sciences) with a
total of 232.5 over 280 points . Roula is the daughter of Georges ABBOUD (from Mashghara) and Marcelle Dib SELOUAN (from Aytanit). Congratulations for an excelent work. |
