     Fellow Travellers To Thank

There are quite a few people to thank for this website, and I'm looking forward to adding more.  With every bit of information, every flyer, newsletter, and hint we receive, we will make it point to add to this page.  If you are listed here and would like to say a quip, give a E-mail address, let the WebOp know.

First and foremost, thanks to David Small.   For the benefit of those that are new to the Spectre scene, I will say he was if nothing else one of the most vocal parts of Gadget's Small,Inc, and one of the main developers of the Spectre emulation cartridge.  We really appreciate his approval for this website and the contents herein.

Roger Nelson was the man who inspired this site with the donation of his
Spectre 128K and Spectre GCR carts.  With his donations are also the 2nd, 4th, & 5th issues of the "Gadget News Herald" [The Journal of Leading Emulation Technology & Sorcery], as well as other documents and printed out help files that will be listed here as they are typed in.  (We are just getting started, give us a chance...)

The folks at A.U.N.T. [The Atari Users of North Texas] were quite instrumental in bringing me up to speed about the Atari ST world and were perhaps the first people who told me ways of "pushing the envelope".  It was thanks to Jeff that I got my first experience with the Spectre cartridge he let me borrow, and got to see the "Transporter One" file transfer system that uses the midi port connected to an ST disk drive.  (Never did get that to work)(grin).  Then there was "Sir Smedley" who related the Neil Young and Stacy stories to me for the first time.
But this website would have never happened if it were not for the preaching of "Dynamic Dave Acklam".   In 1998 I returned to Atari 400/800 fandom after being in the Macintosh world for nine years.  While I liked the Atari 8-bit line, I thought the ST computer never made it past 1989.  Well, in America that was true.  But Dave showed me that the ST was not only a computer with an efficient GUI and disk system, but had a fun fan base as well.

I would like to thank Apple Computers for keeping an online website where I found a good copy of various editions of System 6 & 7, and other utilities.

Many thanks the folks at the Macintosh 512K User group, Low End Mac, and the System 6 mailing list for keeping their truly vintage software up for people to enjoy.

I would like to thank the adventurous group of my fellow JYBOLAC members.  It is good to share my adventures with them, and to sometimes swap notes on Spectre.  If I were to go at this alone it would not be as much fun nore would I try to "Push the Envelop" quite as much.  Special thanks go to Rick D and Cybernoid on this one (my fellow Spectre users!)

And jimmichie, at least that was the name given on E-Bay, who made the awesome pic on the title page.

      More thanks upcoming... ;)
