| Dark is the enigma of D.N.Angel. No-one knows exacty who he is or where he came from, and few save those of the Niwa household know he is tied to their lineage. When every male member of the Niwa blood turns 14, Dark emerges as the famous Kaitou theif. The last time he appeared was 40 years ago, when Daisuke's grandfather Daiki was a kid, and every time he does he tries to steal works of art. Specifically those belonging to the Hikari family, which were created before the cultural revolution. Dark is also D.N.Angels resident bish, and damn does he know it~ He's confident in his thieving skills and his womanly charms, to say the least. So much so that it would be easy to write him off as an arrogant pretty-boy. When he's not busy stealing things, Dark abides his time by making passes on every woman in sight. But as the story progresses, the many layered aspects of Dark are slowly being revealed. One could be mistaken for thinking him nothing more than being a said arrogant pretty-boi. But Sugisaki has made him more than that. Dark is like any one of us, a person who searches for their own identity in todays convoluted world. A world that may never know who Dark really is.
