KELLY'S STORY
Kelly was picked up by animal control and taken to the pound. we were called that a pup had been hit by a car and had a broken leg and needed rescue. We went down to get her and took her to our vet . He has told us that she was not hit by a car but that someone kicked her so hard that they broke the nerve in her shoulder, she also had a small wound on the side of her head where the toe of the shoe hit. Because the nerve is broken her leg is paralyzed and must be removed . We are building her body and her other 3 legs up so she can have the surgery. There will be some recuperating time but then she should be good as new only 3 legged. Kelly is a very loving little girl and why she is still loving after what has been done to her is beyond me . she is about 8-9 weeks old will have her shots to date and has been started on Heart guard .
KELLY
When Kelly first came in she could not hardly stand up she was afraid of every thing and every one , she has been with me now since April 24th and has made a lot of progress she now is a happy little girl who can walk even though its difficult for her she doesn't let it slow her down. She is now very loving and happy to see every one who comes by her .. Kelly will be having surgery to remove her leg as their is no repairing a nerve. The surgery will be expensive and we have a special fund started for her. If you would like to make a donation toward Kelly's surgery it would be TAX DEDUCTIBLE we are a 501(c)(3) rescue just email us and we will tell you how to send your donation or we will give you the name and address of the vet who will be doing her surgery. Any and all donations help so don't feel like you have to send in a huge amount every dollar helps and we appreciate all the help we get....

Kelly 5-24-01 taking it slow....
Kelly had her surgery at Dr.Vander Werff in Grand Rapids on May 23rd  . She came through the surgery just like a trooper she was all tail wags when we went to pick her up. Kelly is doing fine and learning she only has 3 legs now she walks a little slow but she is walking , she is playful and oh so loving. She wants to thank every one for all their well wishes and all the donations sent for her. We want to Thank Dr. Vander Werff for doing Kelly's surgery and for giving us a special price for her surgery. All money left over in Kelly's fund will be saved for the next dog like Kelly . We will continue to seek donations for this fund as we seem to get more then our share of dogs like Kelly.
Dr. Vander Werff is a wonderful caring vet who has helped us many times we will miss him and his staff Lori and Sally greatly when he leaves for his new practice in Glen Arbor Mi at the end of May..

What a great day we had at Mill Creek Days the Parade was so much fun and Kelly stole the show ,walked her little heart out and captured the hearts of many wonderful people ...Especially the hearts of the Comstock Park Jaycees who sponsored the whole event. They took Kelly under their wing and did a big announcement about her and her story. We would like to give a special big THANK YOU to the Comstock Park Jaycees for donating half of their proceeds to Kelly's fund from their golf game . What a great group of people Thank You so very much...... Voice Of Animals Rescue would like to also thank all the other wonderful people who came out and supported us at the Mill Creek Days . It was a big success and we raised more then enough money for Kelly's surgery. All funds left over after Kelly's surgery will be put into a special fund for the next Kelly, which we seem to get lots of Kelly's .
