Well that gets that side now I will get the Daugherty side and tell what I know about them starting with my granddad Daugherty that is as far back as I can go.  Then I will take Grandmother Blackwilder side.

Granddad Daugherty’s name was Anderson Daugherty, his people came from Ireland I don’t know anything about when they cane across to this country but I know it was a long time ago.  His folks was full blooded Irish.  They settled in North Carolina.  That is as far back as I have any knowledge of them or have heard of them.  I don’t remember ever seeing any of his folks except one of his brothers, his name was Joe Daugherty, I was small when he died I remember hearing them talk about one other brother he had and his name was Jake Daugherty, I guess the reason I didn’t forget it I kindly got his name for myself.  Now granddad married Elizabeth Blackwilder somewhere in North Carolina and they moved to Alabama along time before the civil war and settled down close to Montgomery.  They had ten children all borned before the civil war.  I will try to give their names as best I can.  I will give their names all in a row and then tell what little I know about them.  The boys names were John, Billy, Tommy, Jake and David.  The girls names were Martha, Jane, Sarah, Julia which was my mother and Frances the youngest.  Uncle John married but I have forgotten who she was, but he had to go to the civil war and got killed, they had two children a boy and a girl.  The boy’s name was Bud, but I have forgottent he girls name.  I believe granddad and grandmother raised the children.  I don’t know what became of their mother.  Uncle Billy died in the war with typhoid fever.  Uncle Tom married Aunt Nan is has been about 50 years since I have seen any of them.  I have just forgotten them. Uncle Jake married my dad’s half-sister as I have already written about.  Uncle Dave married Aunt Frank somebody I have forgotten who, they had a large family also and it has been a long time since I have seen any of them so I can’t give their names either.

Now for the girls, Martha was the oldest girl she married Joe Smith and they went to Texas a long time ago that was before I was borned she never did come back to Alabama and I never did see her or any of her family, she had two girls, their names was Frances and Julia.  Next was Jane, she married Jim Jones, they had four children two boys and two girls, their names was Coly the oldest and next twins a boy and a girl, Izalla and Izera and the youngest was Martha Jane.  Aunt Sarah married Uncle Nute Sexton they had seven children, their names was Dave, Amanda, William, Ida and James.  Two died while very young.

Now my mother which I have already described in family.  The youngest a girl which I have already mentioned she died an infant.

This is a record of our forefathers written by our brother, Jacob as best he could remember and if you ask me I think he did a very good job.  I am very proud of it myself and I  hope the rest of you all will appreciate it as much as I do.
