Crafters Have to Eat, Too.
"Country Recipes"
Introduction

Once upon a time a group of ladies met online and formed a craft club.  It was not long before we felt like family.  Our chats remind us of those family dinners on Sunday when, after the meal was done and the dishes were being washed and dried, the men watched sports on TV while the women talked.  We came together as strangers in the beginning but now we are sisters.  We laugh and cry together, sharing the good times and the bad.  We pray for each other and offer support and encouragement.

Although we are spread across the country with some members outside the United States, we are close in the ways that matter most.  We are professionals and homemakers, mothers with small children and mothers with children grown and on their own.  We are married, divorced, and single.  We are fat and skinny.  In many ways opposites, we still have a common link.  We have come to love each other and to look forward to our time together.  When we are not able to chat, we miss one another.

We crafters are children at heart, never having lost the fun of playtime.  We have found a way to play that is acceptable.  Our eyes glaze over and we become blind and deaf to all around us as we focus on our project.  Our plan to work for just a few minutes, never pans out.  Once we start a project, time has no meaning.

We are often amazed when family members ask,
"What's for dinner?"  Once again, time has flown and we had no idea it was so late.  We often laugh when we talk about mealtime and the common problem led us to share recipes.  Some take more time than others, but we share the ones we like best.

There is more to preparing dinner for us.  We have to clear the things from the latest project, pick up the scraps from the floor, and try to find a place for drying what we are working on.  We must take a moment here to recognize the patience of our husbands and children for they have to tolerate a lot of quick meals cooked by women whose mind is still on crafts.  There are even times when we try to cook and work on crafts at the same time.  And still others of us resort to spending a day cooking and freezing meals for a week, so we can have more time to spend on crafts.

Not all crafters are as avid as we are.  Some of us have turned our crafts into a career, making and selling our creations.  We love what we do and love sharing it.  We love sharing all we have to give.  Even our recipes, and we invite crafters and non-crafters alike to try what we have to offer.

A Special "Thank You" to my friend Angel with a Smile, better know as Joan for this beautiful introduction.  Hugs Joan and I love you gal.
