This site is a work in progress. The idea is to move from notes about its author to images and notes about the author's family, community (and former communities), profession, and interests. My interests refer to activities, pursuits, heroes -- that which gives me the feeling of joy and accomplishment, that which I believe is worth sharing with others. So far, I have included lists of books and commentary by Guy Davenport, writer, teacher, friend. Also, included is material about Scott LaFaro, jazz musician and home town hero. In partnership with my wife, Michele, my greatest contribution to mankind: Chuck's Angels.
