The Metcalf Family History
Anne Metcalf married Stephen Metcalf.  He was a good husband and father when he was home.  He didn't come home  alot, he never said, but Anne knew what he was foinf when he didn't come home.  Being the devout Catholic she was, she never thought of divorcing him.  Stephen died when the children, Hank, Linda, and Jeff, where young enough to idolize their father, as every child should.
Hank went to war leaving behind his sweetheart: Sarah Brewer.  While gone overseas, Sarah fell for Jeff.  The two then has a secret affair which was never found out about.  When Hank came back from overseas he came back to Sarah, she adn Jeff broke up and Hank never found out.  Hank was promoted to a management position at Sloan Industries when a management vs union fight broke out.  His sister, Linda, was on the side of the union. Tensios broke out and resultd in a shooting of Sarah and a union at Sloan Industries.  Jeff Metcalf went on to Spring Training and was starting right-fielder for the Cleveland Indians.  He was engaged to Ginger Szabo who broke up with him over a song.  After trying to commijt suicide on his mother remarriage to Al Kahn, Hank moved to Chicago and was never heard of again.  Anne and Al had a son shortly after they were married, as she was already with child when they married.  Jeff had numerous affairs while still pining over Ginger.  She became engaged to Arthur which was soon over when Jeff said, " I know this is the wrong thing to ask a woman who is engaed to another man, but would ya marry me instead of him?"  Her response?  "Yes."  Linda had affairs, each of them ending in heartache.
Al was accused of being a communist and the shunning of the River Run Community forced him to move Anne and Michael to New Jersey after Jeff and Ginger married.
