Hello my name is Chetak D Baliga and i am an Electronics and Communication Engineer from the Mangalore and currently working at Ahemedabad the biggest city of Gujarat the erstwhile Karnavati in India. I am working as Project Leader SCM at Applitech Solution Ltd Gujarat's biggest IT solution provider.
I was born in a middle class Hindu family and was brought up in a conventional yet quite liberal manner by all means was i encouraged to see the world as it was and draw my own conclusions. I was influenced strongly by the epics Mahabharat and Ramayana which every kid at that age is told about. I was fascinated by righteousness and courage. As I grew up I took a lot of interest in History and archaeology and loved to read about far away and ancient places.
I keep great pride in my good knowledge about ancient India and the medieval times. Though i knew about the Islamic invasion of India , I never knew the real extent of what they had done to the locals. I am not a communalist but History should always be free from morals ethics etc and should reflect reality. Sadly we have lacked pathetically in telling our children the truth.
I do not encourage any vendetta for what happened hundreds of years ago. The Muslims are Indians and its as much their country as it is anybody's but history has to to narrated the way it happened , lest we forget.
About Me I was born in the sleepy coastal town of Mangalore on the west coast of India. Ever since y child hood days i was fascinated by historical stories and acute nationalistic pride when i heard to stories of Rana Pratap and his likes.
There are so many things that i would love to if I could muster enough time. These are some of my interests

About this site
The main intention of this site is to bring about a almost dormant interest in Vijaynagar and Hampi alive. Its indeed sad to notice that most of the sources available today are the legacy of visitors and dignitaries who visited Vijaynagar from as far lands as Portugal and Persia.
The lack of informative resources on the web have hindered many a amateur from discovering Hampi. I have tried to include as many links and resources as i have come across. Mind you they have been painstakingly gathered i have also included figments of my imagination of several events for which i am sure the intellectual community would forgive me for any historical discrepancies. These are scenes i have concocted to pay my humble respects to the one of the mightiest empires humans have built.
The site is divided into easily browse able sub sections
