HI! Welcome to "Our Site". My name is Chaplain Howard Flexer. I am a Vietnam combat Veteran who served with the Marines. I am trying to share my works with as many as I can. I call it " Through My Eyes" It contains my feeling of life and what the War has done to my fellow Veterans and I.
Dedication Speech August 16, 1995
"THROUGH MY EYES" by Chaplain Howard Flexer A view of a Vietnam combat Veterans Life and his feeling as told through his poems, verse and letters to the editor and being a Veterans Chaplain Etc. Quite a few have been published in Veteran magazines, one even got a thank you reply from the President of the United States, George Bush. He has also been told by many fellow Veterans that what he had written was the way they also felt, but were unable to put in words. While many are Vietnam inspired, some are just his view of life and how he sees it. He hopes you enjoy it and just maybe helps you love life as much as he does.

"50.000 NAMES"
I heard a song peformed on the Capital Memorial Day Concert I would ask all of you to get. It is Called "50,000 Names" By Jamie O'Hara along with the vidio that goes with it. I'll put down the words, but you have to hear and see it to get the feelings it causes. "50,000 NAMES" There's teddy bears and high school rings, and old photographs that mamas bring * of daddies with their young boys playin' ball.* There's combat boots he used to wear * when he was sent over there * and there's 50.000 Names carved in the Wall. There's cigarettes and cans of beer * and notes that say "I miss you dear" * and children who don't say anything at all * There's purple hearts and packs of gum * Fatherless daughters and Fatherless sons * and there's 50,000 Names carved in the Wall. They come from all across this land * in pickup trucks and mini-vans( my line is "on Yamahas and Harley Davidsons") * searchin' for a boy from long ago * They scan the wall and find his name * the teardrops fall like pourin' rain * then silently they leave a gift and go * There's stars of David and Rosary beads * and Crucifixion figurines * and flowers of all colors large and small * there's a boy scout badge and merit pin * little American flags wavin' in the wind * and there's 50,000 Names carved in the Wall there's 50,000 Names carved in the Wall Written and sung by Jaime O'Hara
